The Chiefs are exactly what we used to be. Strong on defense, solid running game, and a game manager at QB.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Except you're wrong. In 6 playoff games, Smith has thrown 12 TDs and only 2 INTs...passer rating of 94.5...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I'm not saying we need anything on offense other than to get all our guys on the field. I was pointing out that you don't have to have a dominant defense to win in the NFL, as evidenced by the final four teams.

Smith is dog food. Ain't no one think Smith is anything but a game manager. If you think Smith is a good QB then you haven't been paying attention. If he's so great, with so many teams, why hasn't he won anything?? Those 49er teams in the playoffs were very good. Chiefs team is a good team. So what held both those teams back???

              No............

Smith is garbage. So much so, that the Chiefs are thinking of going after Romo. That's because Smith is sooo good. At some point, your QB has to be a play maker. Which Smith is not.

I agree. Because the days of a dominant defense really doesn't exist in today's NFL. However, you do need a unit you can count on to make those critical stops when the game is on the line. A Defense that finds a way to produce that (clutch) turnover, sack or can get you off the field on 3rd down when you have to have that big play. If we could upgrade our defense to get to the level of Seattle's, Denver or Houston, I think we would be unstoppable! That is very achievable with another pass rusher and playmaking CB.

Agreed. Gotta get those two areas shored up first. But adding a veteran WR thru free agency should seriously be considered now. We need to max out these next two years with Ben.

Is this an attempt at "sarcasm" or what? You are aware that Denver's defense was the MVP of the 2015 season and superbowl L. If they would have had any semblance of quarterback play this past season, it most likely would have been the pats vs broncos (again) in the AFCCG. I mean, even the best of the best, say "uncle" when they get no help!

                        An extremely poor attempt.

Edit, saw the clarifaction. I agree 100%.

I agree and we are upgrading our defense, we are just doing it through the draft, so your going to have growing pains. I think we will address the pass rush in the draft, we will be looking for Harrison's and Timmon's replacements. As far as our line goes I like Tuitt, Heyward, and Hargrave. CB I'm not sure the direction they take, we have Gilbert and Golson so maybe one of those guys are the future.

I didnt say you couldn't win with a dominant defense, only that its not a requirement. If it was really the key then we would see the top defenses winning it every year and we don't.

It wasnt a poor attempt at anything...Sorry for pointing out flaws in your rationality....Like i
Denver won with a dominant defense last year.
New Englands defense was dominant through the playoffs this year.
They also allowed the least amount of points during the season.

We win or lose based on Ben not defense. This is not 1985

ehh, we saw Denver and Seattle win the last few years and the Pats W was due to a GL stand. Pats may not have a dominant D every year but its usually opportunistic and is top 5 in a stat like points allowed or TO's. They also tend to be the best at taking away what an opponent does best and copies what teams did to defeat the opponents they face in the playoffs.
