Vince Williams is a good football player, his only problem is he plays behind Ryan Shazier.

Which isn't even really much of a problem because he plays behind Ryan Shazier.

        Replaceable carbon unit.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Yeah. There's no way they are giving that one up.

Inthink flex led starts later in the year

They paid Vince in the offseason...it may be that the Steelers are preparing for life without Lawrence Timmons next year...

I didn't like the fact that we went conservative after the big lead, although I understand the reasons, I still would have kept the aggressive D all game long just because of last weeks performance.

Actually his problem is he is a liability in pass coverage. He can play the run and he can tackle , but he struggles in pass coverage.

Yep. And hopefully, the Steelers don't put him in situations where he has to cover much. Good QBs will pick on him for sure.

Does he actually struggle in coverage? Or was he tagged with that back in college?

Perhaps its not "strugle" but he sure cant compare to the other inside guys we have in front of him.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The difference is Williams makes the tackle... Shazier is wildly inconsistent with tackling.

Shazier has had 14 tackle games before...the difference is that, when healthy, Shazier is a real difference maker...Vince is a solid player...

I could see Vince playing the Buck in the base D and in goal line/short yardage situations alongside Shazier and coming off the field for the Nickel package...

I was curious so I looked it up. Shazier has had 4 double digit tackle games in his young career. V Williams has had 1.

                              and Timmons = 28.

Double digit total tackles? Or solo tackles?
