AB's "dancing" penalty was for what exactly?

Consult a team physician, athletic trainer, medical spotter or unaffiliated neurological consultant if the game lasts more than 4 hours...
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I was glad to see the penalty. Hopefully this signals that the nfl is finally cracking down on those classless displays.

Earlier today I saw a video replay from a full-frontal perspective. Yeah, he sure twerked, with another brief move that I have not words to describe. He earned the 15 yard penalty, and now likely will be featured in a video with Miley Cyrus or Nicki Minaj, or both, and be paid well for it. His spirit is indominable, gotta love having him on our team.

I think Antonio Brown should get a 15 yard penalty for his haircut...part Hunger Games, part Wild Thing Ricky Vaughn...and the Lego block on top of his head was rounded off to a point.

Yep. Wasn't really about celebration, or the team, as much as shameless self-promotion, IMO. All the Steelers' fans that are yucking it up now, wonder how happy they'll be if he gets a penalty for something like this that costs the team a game?

However, even with all that, I have to agree with the last part of Dukie's statement:

He looked like an idiot, but that's his problem. Some people enjoy looking like retards. The team's problem is that 15 yard penalty, which mattered on the next Redskins' drive. Does Brown care whether he hurts the team when he draws those penalties? If so, will he able to control his juvenile impulses? Those are questions of some importance for the team and its fans.

                Exactly right.

We can argue all day long about whether player celebrations are fun or annoying. When they hurt the team, that's a different discussion altogether.

Based on what we've seen so far, the answer to your questions appears to be "No."

I hope that changes before some situation when it could really hurt the team.

When you say it like that, no one can really argue. After all, I often wonder what parents tell their kids when those geezers stair lustingly at each other in those Viagra commercials. "Dad, what is that commercial for?"
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

When a penalty against AB changes the course of a game...then we will talk. Until then...I'll gladly be entertained by his antics.

                        You must be easily amused.

Basically saying that 15 yard taunting/dancing penalties mean nothing to you, unless it can be proven to have lost the game. Same apply to late hits? Interference? Facemask? Roughing the punter? Deflated balls?

All of those penalties directly affect other players on the field. What Brown did not touch or affect anyone else in any way. Again, he did not use the ball as a prop nor did other teammates celebrate with him. He didn't even delay the game. It was an arbitrary penalty
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

If the referee felt bowing with the ball had sexual connotations, would he have fined DeAngelo for his TD celebrations too? Who decides what celebratory gestures are worthy of penalty and which ones are not?

I think AB got hit under Section 3: Article 1: Note 4: "acts including but not limited to: prolonged gyrations"

Basically, he twerks 3 times and he's fine. But once he went crazy with twerks 4 and 5; the ref had no choice but to throw the flag

Or, "Dad, what is an erection that lasts more than 4 hours?" !

I'm far less annoyed by the suggestiveness of the dance and more by the fact that it's such a "look at me" move. Why not just celebrate with your teammates with a hug or something. I love AB but winning a little more gracefully would be welcomed.

The dude is making quite history for his TD celebrations though! Front flip (best ever), goal post hug, twerk, what's next???
