You all are certifiable. You're acting like Shazier or Gilbert WANTED to get injured. Its not like they were doing something reckless that can cause injury like skydiving in the offseason. THAT would be worthy of fan's complaints.

Fans complaining about about a player getting injured is literally the dumbest thing ever. Getting an injury has ZERO to do with a player's toughness.

Let's look at Lloyd, Greg as exhibit A. One of the toughest players to ever wear the black and gold. Now let's imagine if the Internet was around when he started his career? Undersized linebacker misses games in his first couple of seasons? Must be soft...bust...not tough enough.

    C'mon fellas, be better.

What about a player getting called out of coaches and fellow teammates don't you understand?

Last year it was a quote by Tomlin that he was missing games for bumps and bruises. This year it was our DC and Vince Williams talking about him learning to play through pain. There was a whole discussion on it here just a few weeks ago.

Here is one of the quotes from a triblive article...

“He has to play through them, and that's part of growing up and being a veteran in the National Football League,” Butler said. “If you are waiting to feel good before you play, you are never going to play. He's dealing with that right now, and hopefully we can get him on the field and keep him on the field.”
Butler wasn't talking about playing through Shazier's latest ailment — a concussion — but rather the other injuries.

So forgive me if I get a bit testy when member/s allude that fans concerned about Shazier's toughness are somehow egomaniacs only concerned about seeing a Steeler they didn't support fail.

Another quote by Williams referring to Shazier missing games with little bumps and bruises.

Williams, the definition of tough-guy linebacker, also said Shazier has to “grind through” injuries.
“This is the NFL, and it is a very physical sport,” Williams said. “I think he is mentally strong. He always comes back and has strong games when he misses some time with those little bumps and bruises

so you want fans to wait until careers are over to pass judgement on a player on a message board?

                  not.gonna.happen.

for every Lloyd there are countless other players who started strong and faded due to injuries.

Apparently certain fans know better that Shazier really IS hurt and can't risk further injury and we are all just being too hard on the guy.

I fear Shazier's style of play against bigger, stronger players might end his career sooner than many would like to see.

'this is a business'. isnt that what the players tell us when they hold out for more money or leave via FA??
well, guess what. if the patrons of a certain business arent happy with the product, they have the right to complain

And they do. Over and over again. Even in the midst of significant winning streaks and Super Bowl runs. Imagine if we really had something worth complaining about, like Browns fans. Why not just relax and enjoy the ride? Or just bitch and moan some more. Your choice.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Some fans are simply incapable of this. I remember the bitching and kvetching after beating Seattle in the SB a decade ago. The Steelers had just WON the NFL championship and all some could do was whine about the manner in which victory was achieved. I sure wouldn't want to be their kid...

Mitchell must have walked too close to Shazier's locker and picked up his cooties.

Lol I didn't think you would resort to the whole "stop complaining" argument. That's the one used when you have no valid points...no sustainable arguments. It's weak. This is a message board. We haven't won **** yet this season. We haven't won our own division...yet we shouldn't say a word about a first round draft pick who has problems staying on the field? Maybe you should let Kevin Butler, Vince Williams and Mike Tomlin about your theories. Tell them to stop bitching and moaning as well. Maybe we should create a community where it's a ban-able offense to have a real discussion about the Steelers.
