Shazier Does not Practice

I think this 100% correct. No one can deny Shazier is uber talented. The questions surrounding his toughness start with coaches and teammates. I understand the frustration. Fans understand the frustration. The only way Shazier can avoid the critical comments by is to practice and play.As we continue to say, Shazier is a difference-maker when he plays. I've said before, he is the Steelers' Sean Lee.I think most posters would love to see Shazier in every game, making these plays. It just hasn't happened for him yet.
Question is, if he gets bigger and stronger, will it take away his best traits?Trolls are people too.Comment

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

He wasn't their guy in the draft so, of course, if he misses a practice then he's made of glass, if misses a tackle he was over drafted, if he gets beat deep by the best TE in football he's slow and can't cover, if he gets blocked he's too weak, etc., etc., etc. and it goes on and on. It's the same with many other players, even Ben, to some he's still a frat boy, these guys and gals would rather see a player struggle so it fits their narrative of him rather than see him actually become a good player.

Suiting up for 9 games with a total of 24 tackles during his rookie campaign certainly got the ball rolling on the made of glass stigma. Missing 4 games this year hasn't helped that as well. And when coaches and players are saying things about it...maybe there is some validity. I understand some fans desire to bury their head in the sand on this one, but Shazier has some learning to do when it comes to playing through pain. His talent is not what is being questioned here. It's his toughness.Trolls are people too.Comment

I think speculating on fans motivations for comments is short sighted at best, arrogant at worst. You have no idea what runs through fans minds for the criticisms they may have of a particular player. With Shazier however the criticism is founded in fact and supported by quotes of Steeler players and staff. We can run through the facts and quotes if you wish.He wasn't their guy in the draft so, of course, if he misses a practice then he's made of glass, if misses a tackle he was over drafted, if he gets beat deep by the best TE in football he's slow and can't cover, if he gets blocked he's too weak, etc., etc., etc. and it goes on and on. nah, I think it's due to missing games his first 2 seasons.
he definitely had some great games when healthy but unfortunately it's like Gilbert his first year with his tendency to get injured every other game.Steelers 27

Sounds pretty right on to me. Shazier is the least of our problems on the defense. Would that be the Gilbert who is playing as well as any RT in the league right now?"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment
