IMO, the Patriots* will be ripe for the beating come December, if not in reality than against the point spread. I think that their deflating of footballs had them in years past, particularly difficult to unseat in late season (haven't the stats to back it up, mind you). I think this year, they will have a game(s) where multiple turnovers will upend them.
I dont think we really appreciate what Tomlin and Co has done this year

Steelers notebook: Haley relishes challenge of mix-and-match offense
By Mark Kaboly

Updated 13 hours ago
Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley had to do without a lot of critical parts to his offense through the first 10 games of the season, but you aren't going to hear him complain.
“As coaches, we relish that,” Haley said of the challenge of playing without a full lineup. “It is fun, but I would take the alternative of having all of our guys healthy and playing.”
Ben Roethlisberger missed four games and parts of three others; Le'Veon Bell and Martavis Bryant missed four, Maurkice Pouncey 10 and Kelvin Beachum four, but the Steelers still have one of the top offenses in the league heading into their bye week.
“As a coach, you take it as a challenge and we're happy with a lot of what we did, but obviously we feel like we could have a couple back and that would've made us even happier,” Haley said. “You take that as a challenge and the name of the game is winning, so you win with the players you have.”
• Roethlisberger wore a bigger shoe on his left foot last week to accommodate the residual swelling from his mid-foot sprain and to allow for a protective metal plate to be inserted. He may or may not wear the shoe when the Steelers resume Nov. 29 in Seattle. “We will see as we move forward if my foot feels fine in a normal-sized shoe then we will wear it,” he said.
• Linebacker Arthur Moats said Wednesday he has yet to hear from the league about a fine for a facemask against Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel. The NFL fines all egregious facemask penalties. The league will not release the fine publicly until Friday afternoon.
• The Steelers finished up their short week with a light-hearted and shortened practice that included music and some one-handed catch drills from the offensive linemen, including David DeCastro. “We had some fun today,” Roethlisberger said. “We wanted to see who had some of the best hands on the team, and David did pretty well.”
• Roethlisberger heaped praise on receiver Antonio Brown, saying the only thing that surprises him about Brown is when he drops a ball. “The most amazing thing he did was that front flip he did,” Roethlisberger said. “It doesn't mean we like it, but it was pretty amazing.”
• Roethlisberger was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this year and the 13th time in his career after throwing for 379 yards and three touchdowns in a 30-9 win over the Browns.
• While many of Cam Heyward's teammates will be going away during their four days away from the team, Heyward will spend time with his newborn son. “More diapers to change, and I'm looking forward to it,” he said. “Hopefully I can help my wife out as much as possible and spent as much time as I can with my son.” Heyward's son was born Nov. 7.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

Soft schedule. Before the season began if you told me the Steelers would be 6-4 through the bye week I would have expected that. That's just based on the talent. Colbert has shored up some positions via FA and trades but I think that only accounted for the injuries to the kicker and Golson. Even with original kicker and Golson we'd most likely be 6-4. The real test is coming up. Is the team coached up for the second half schedule. Did Colbert choose wisely with the FA? We shall seeMike & Mike were talking about how Romo was 2-0 and the Cowboys haven't won since he was injured.
Would you rather have Landry Jones and Vick or Weeden and Vassal? They both said Cowboys had the better QB's..
yet we have weathered the storm going 2-2 with our backups. What's crazy is we were a FG or 1st down from 3-1.
Can't say enough how well built this team is to win even when a star goes down or a star is suspended for a few games.
we complain a lot but how many teams could be 6-4 after missing the best RB for 2 games, the franchise QB for 4 games AND their deep threat for 4 games?
oh yeah, and Pouncey is out as well as the starting LT.
Tomlin may not be the best at clock management but he is pretty good at team management.
Butler and Colbert as well as the rest of the coaching staff and FO.
When I made my post about Ben it wasn't because I was knocking him as a QB... I just see a franchise that is pretty damn good at adding depth and fielding competitive teams who, always find a way to have another guy ready to step up.
Should be a fun ride down the stretch...Comment

Actually, if you looked at our imposing schedule at the beginning of the year, the first half of our schedule (NE, SF, STL, BAL, SD, ARZ, KC, CIN) appeared to slightly tougher based on the combined records of each of those teams during the previous season (a combined record of 75-52-1 in 2014) a compared to the second half of our schedule (OAK, CLE, SEA, IND, CIN, DEN, BAL, CLE with a combined record of 72-55-1 in 2014).Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

I wonder how this post would have been different if Ben could not have been effective in the Browns game or if he had reinjured his foot.
My point is we went into the game with Heath Miller as the third string QB when our back up and franchise QB (Ben) supposedly was not ready to play.
That was a huge mistake that he got away with.Comment

It wasn't a mistake. It was simply hedging his bets. He would have preferred that Landry Jones played the entire game and the Steelers still won. As it turns out, Ben was well enough to practice, albeit on a limited basis. That was enough to allow him to be a contingency plan, which he needed.Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

Now it's a soft schedule. Before the season, the Steelers schedule was rated No. 1 in strength of schedule. Always need an excuse. The last six games are not that much greater than the first part of the schedule. Seahawks, not looking as strong as last season. Colts, the QB is hurt and not having a great year. Bengals started very strong. Look for a little fade down the stretch. Browns, Ravens down seasons. Peyton Manning is going downhill in Denver. They don't really know what the backup brings. I don't see this group as harder than the first except there are more away games.Soft schedule. To even be *talking* about playoffs given the injuries and forced absences we've had is something amazing.
The best news in my book is we didn't give away a game to Duh Raiduhs, or the Browns ... in years past we often did, and in at least one of those years that FUBAR game kept us out of the playoffs. Does the fact that we took care of business there this year mean we are more focused, and more ready to go the dance? I hope so!
We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!
HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!Comment

what about the rats and chiefs?steelers = 3 ring circus with tomlin being the head clownComment

No Ben for the Chiefs. $#!++¥ kicker costing us the game vs. the Rats.
But, if you don't want to give any credit to Tomlin, it stands to reason that you wouldn't blame him either...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment
