We were played by bellicheat. They had a hole and needed an answer. Blount was familiar with their system and was the number 2. I'm convinced his 'walkout' was an orchestrated ruse knowing what the result would be. The speed upon which the pats claimed him is all the proof I need.
Would we have won with Blount on the roster?

I hear what you're saying, but do you mean Bellicheat's* a better coach than Tomlin when he* doesn't cheat, or only when he* does? How many SB's has he* won since Tomlin became HC (and won one against Cards, without (cough) cheating)?
Also, Tomlin is still a pretty young coach, and IIRC at the same comparative career stage, Bellicheat* was in a far worse position (Browns? Jets?).
Finally ... I think we were short a few players this year to make a run deep into the playoffs. Our defense was a shambles that heroically played over their heads the last few games of the regular season to help give us wins. And our offense was one bad knee away from mediocrity all season long ... can't win a SB that way. Great improvements over last year, but IMO not as good as they needed to be to win the big one this year. The only way I think we might have would be to score like 40 points in every post-season game, because sure as anything our defense would have at least 35 points scored on it by Brady*, Rodgers, and Wilson. High hopes for next year, I think our arrow is pointing up, especially if we can get Troy to retire and free up a bunch of money ("Senior Advisory Position"?).
It does burn me that being such a bad football human being as Blount was (quitting on a team) is "rewarded" by having him later be a star on another team. Seems like Karma ought to take care of things better ... Here's hoping he has 3 fumbles for return TDs and Brady has one or two 6-point TOs of his own in the next game. And maybe a SpyGate II scandal to go along with it! Go Sea Hags!Last edited by SanAntonioSteelerFan; 01-19-2015, 12:14 AM.

This really irks me as well. Blount is just a selfish, immature turd. He shouldn't be rewarding for quitting on his team.It does burn me that being such a bad football human being as Blount was (quitting on a team) is "rewarded" by having him later be a star on another team. True... but I definitely believe he knew he could always go back to the Pats if no one claimed him.
Honestly, I think we screwed this up. I'm not saying we should bow to every wish by a FA but if you sign a #2 WR/RB you need to use him in that role instead of letting him rot on the bench.
Sure, we do things a different way but it's football... maybe I'm different but I'm not a fan of picking up FA's and treating them like rookie draft picks.Steelers 27

We did screw up...Tomlin should have played blount more...he already had proven himself and we needed a big back.....
but, no Tomlin was all in with Bell...big mistake......
That Monday night incident would have never happen and Blount would have been starter in Ravens game.
Blount and his agent seem to be smarter than Steelers.....As an individual you have to look out for yourself, if people aren't treating you right.Comment

They should have done with him what they did with Mendenhall. Just suspend his ars, and ban him from the facilities. that way he's done for the year. What happened, it sort of seems like he got no punishment for what he did- in fact, just the opposite happened. Wonder if it was planned..... Belicheat.6- Time Super Bowl Champions......

it isn't hard to understand...
however, we picked him up so we deserve some of the blame.
Pretty sure Blount didn't see the Steelers as HIS team. Just a chance to showcase his talent and when we ran Bell into the ground in Tennessee I bet Blount felt like we quit on him.
We didn't punish him after the Blunts so it's not like we showed him how we do things in Pittsburgh.Steelers 27

I wonder why we didn't. Maybe FO figured he was such a poison ivy that even banning him from the facility might not be enought to keep his bad attitude from infecting/affecting AB ... had to get him out of town. They should have done with him what they did with Mendenhall.
