Good idea, or bad, to sign him to wear the B&G this year?

Running style and enough gas to play as a back up, good idea. Bad idea because of the image he brings whether people agree or disagree with what he did, but we did sign blount and he carried some baggage. I do think we are as good a team as any to help him shake the image, but don't see the Rooney's taking that plunge.

I can't imagine any team willing to take on the circus his signing would bring.

Someone in playoff contention will sign him. What teams need a good RB for a playoff run?

Denver needs RB help. I don't see anyone wanting that media circus though. He is older coming off a not great season. RB's have lost value. Would he even sign for vet minimum like Blount did? Brown stains are running with 2 rookie's. Steelers and others are using young players and working out well. Not a good time to be a vet RB with trouble around you.

With Blount getting signed as quick as he did, I thought maybe someone would take a chance on Rice. However it might be a bit too much for a lot of teams.

Every NFL team had a chance for Blount. As far as we know only the Pats wanted him. I think just because they had injuries and cheap for what he brings. Plus big difference in at least for fans the "trouble" factor. So I think teams will be very careful with Rice. Now I think Peterson will be different if let go by the MV. He is ELITE so that will play out different. I could also be ay wrong. We will see.

Why is it that we "should" sign him? The Steelers have a lot of female fans who would object strenuously and probably a lot of men too. I know all the seats are sold for years into the future but antagonizing a large part of the fan base wouldn't be a wise move. We don't even know how the team would react. We don't know what he has left.

I don't think Rice is going to get into any more trouble anytime soon after all that flak. So if you're looking for someone who is going to be a good character *in future* (rather than having been a good character in the past), he's probably as good as you can get.

He'd be a good backup for LeVeon.

Well he might be a good back up. But as a once top RB will he take back up money or want back up carries? Blah just pass. Not going to happen. Not the Steelers way. To much media hoopla.

SAY WHAT? He wouldn't accept a back up role...IF he does sign with the Steelers.
