So they panic and sign Allen and all he proved is he wasn't worth the signing. Why did it take them so long to earn what everyone else knew Ziggy Hood shouldn't be on this team. I don't know if the defense does get a pass or not but, who on this defense is worth anything to declare they are not living up to their talent level ? Someone needs to look long and hard at who is giving the green light to select these players. Then we need coaches that can determine in less than four seasons if the guy can play ball or not.
The team drafted players that addressed the loss of aging players. The Steelers developed their share of players too. I don't think you realize how difficult it is to replace good/great NFL players. There hasn't been a team that's been able to figure out how replace good/great player losses that constitutes the making of a good/great team a high % of the time.

The Steelers gave Ziggy Hood a chance to develop into the player they hoped he would become. Unfortunately, he didn't develop into what they envisioned. The interesting things is that they gave him a chance to develop and you complain. No one knows when the light will go on for a player.

For whatever reasons, teams are not able to keep every player they draft or develop. Maybe you missed the boat but this is the era of free agency. Teams can't, don't, or won't keep every player for mostly financial reasons. By Keenan Lewis' own words he wanted to play for New Orleans.

In some ways, the Steelers are victims of their own success. The NFL is designed as such that no team can stay on top forever. We are fortunate that the Steelers find ways to remain competitive when good teams in the past fell completely off the ledge.

I think the organization has earned the right for patience from this fan base.

When you're that old, don't you get free passes for a lot of stuff?
Not free, but he does get senior rates.

Just wondering....after the Carolina game we had some people here suggesting that losing Jones, Shazier and Taylor might not hurt the the defense and might even make it better. Anyone still think so?

Well, that's one way of taking them by surprise. After last week, its the last thing you'd expect a Steelers team to do..

I was shaking my head when I saw folks saying this.. We need more speed in the middle of the field.. right now we have none. and Jarvis was Actually starting to touch the Qb..
Cant wait to get Ryan Back, (I know JJ will struggle coming back from all the time off so really not expecting much this year from him when he does return)
