Blame Haley all you want but the number1 culprit is Dickey and if Tomlin don't have the guts to can him then the Rooney's should can Tomlin. Haley took advantage of the Bucs selling it to stop the run and added plays that would kill what they was doing. What new plan did Dickey have, I seen the same10 yard cushion get torched going on four years straight.
The offense is top in scoring and yards, again what about the D side of the ball. Sacks, run defense, pass defense you name it and it's getting worse . I see other teams playing rookies and contributing that excuse is getting lame now.

I've been saying the same thing long before now. Now everyone else is starting to see it.

I'm not sure Tomlin has the power to can LeBeau, even if he wanted to. It's clear that Tomlin wanted to KEEP Bruce Arians and that decision was made for him. I'm sure the hiring of Haley was also made for him. So, Tomlin is mostly a figure head IMO.

LeBeau will stay as long as the Rooney's want him there.

Every one except The one ones that need to, that's why I said if Tomlin don't pull the trigger then maybe they should pull it on him.

If that's the case then the Rooney's are turning into Jerry Jones like Crash pointed to years ago.

I think this is beyond obvious. When LaBeue said he will "be back if coach Tomlin wanted" I laughed. Rooneys don't trust MT's judgment very far, and they are probably STILL giving him too much decision making power. I highly doubt it was MT's decision to hire Haley. They may have given him some phony facade influence, i.e. "Are you all right with hiring Haley, Mike?" with a wink wink, with all parties knowing the decision was already made. All you have to know with Haley is that he has Steeler/western PA roots, and Tomlin doesn't care about that but the Rooneys clearly do - they go overboard with it if you ask me.

                  LeBeau doesn't play.

It's his players who are UNABLE to make plays in the 4th Q and final 2 minutes for the past 7 years. How is this year any different?

LeBeau doesn't play, and he also refuses to simplify his system, so young players struggle and we're forced to rely on over the hill vets. If he's so inflexible that he can't take advantage of the talent he has, he's overrated.

Outside of the run from 2004-10, he hasn't been all that good. He was awful in Cincinnati the 8 years he was a DC.

Yeah, outside of most of the time he's been with the team, which happens to coincide with the only SB appearances since the 70s, he hasn't been all that good...

When you're that old, don't you get free passes for a lot of stuff?

I've been beaten up here for the past three years for telling the truth about LeBeau and this defense. It was clear to anyone who wanted to get past the idol worship of Lebeau that the defense was fraying around the edges and starting a decline that he had no answers to stop. As I mentioned many times, talent replacement was going to be the downfall of this defense because too many things had to go just right for this defense as currently operated to work. In a system where the salary cap and draft constrains your acquisition of talent you can't design a defense that relies on high risk position conversions from DE to OLB, unique skill Nose Tackles who are very rare and multiple year internships to master the defense. You need a system where players can step in a play early and you can evaluate talent more quickly and make better informed decisions on whether you have the right players.
"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"

Why does the Bears defense stink? They play a very basic 4-3. Should have no problem finding talent, because pass rushing 4-3 DEs grow on trees, right?
