And then Dwyer punched his wife in the face, twice, in 2 days. I am pretty sure there is so seller's remorse going on.Comment

i disagree. yes, its hard finding elite players at any position. but look at carolin's, cincy's and seattle DL. all 3 have great defense and all 3 boast many late day draft picks that reek havoc on the QB.It's just as hard, if not harder, to find a Julius Peppers type of prototypical 4-3 DE than it is to find a Clay Matthews type of prototypical 3-4 OLB. And when it comes to paying them if you are lucky enough to find them, the prototype 4-3 DE typically costs more to keep.
It's just as hard, if not harder, to find a Warren Sapp type of prototypical 4-3 under tackle than it is to find a Casey Hampton type of prototypical 3-4 NT. And when it comes to paying them if you are lucky enough to find them, the prototype 4-3 under tackle typically costs more to keep.
one reason is they dont have to adapt to a new position or convert from college DE to pro OLB. they come in and continue what they've learned in college and expand on that.
another is there are a lot more college teams producing 4-3 DEs then 3-4 DEs. the talent pool is much bigger to find that 'elite' guyComment

Timmons' base salary this year is $6.75 million. The signing bonus on the original 6 year deal was $11 million. His cap number is only so high now, is because the team asked him to restructure on multiple occassions to open up cap space in the present season, but thereby raising his cap hit in later season. That's why Ben's cap hit is in the $20 million range now even though his base salary this year is $12.1 million.I'd prefer this team to not suck. Using 12 million dollars on an average player isn't exactly a wise use of our salary cap. If I wanted a player that gets burned by TEs and is BETTER against the run then I would choose Vince Wiliams at a fraction of the cost.
Time to stop overpaying for average talent and that includes the very selfish Worilds. He "guesses pass" and "guesses wrong" and it throws the defense under the bus.... it's the exact opposite of playing team defense and no one on the defense has the balls to call him out about it.Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

So, Timmons doesn't have an "elite" salary? Of course not...
Does he have an "elite" cap hit? Sure...but, he was helping the team...
Regardless of his cap hit, the D would be much worse without him...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

almost $7 M salary and around 9M cap hit. i dont know all the salaries of the ILBs out theere , but i would be surprised if that isnt elite money/cap hit for an inside linebackerComment

No, Worilds has been a DMVP-level player so far. And if you don't agree, you are just gloom and doom and I will put you on ignore. That's how half the fans are in here: living in denial.I can see why they rolled the dice with a transition tag for Worilds.. He's been on skates and has had no impact whatsoever. Front office is slightly smarter than I am I s'pose.. not much, they did give him 9 million after all.
K Train, I think I owe you payment on a little wager, I need your bitcoin address though.Comment

I really hope you're being facetious because if not, I don't know what to tell you because you'll never get it.
