Speaking of which, how'd the defense do in that wild card game in Denver?
The D didn't do well but they carried the team all year. How'd the offense you love so much do? Everything you wanted to happen with BAs pass happy offense happened in that game. ALL the 3rd downs except one came as a result of an incomplete pass.

That offense, with a hobbled Ben and no Pouncey at center managed to tie the game with a long pass from Ben into the endzone.

IMO this franchise looks like it's trying too hard to go against the grain. Maybe it will pan out 5 years from now when the D's start figuring out how to stop high powered offenses and the league goes back to big bruising backs and Marty Ball...

That screen pass INT said it all... we aren't even trying to put drives together.
I believe the way defenses attempt to slow high powered offenses is with a bend but don't give up TD's approach. Not given up a lot of big plays seems to be key for defenses in limiting scoring opportunities.

I don't believe the league will ever go back to big bruising backs. RB's have a difficult time taking the pounding from today's bigger, stronger, and faster defensive players.

“We are saving our touchdowns for the regular season.”

QB Ben Roethlisberger, who went 5-of-6 for 66 yards, including an interception that was returned for a touchdown by Washington LB Ryan Kerrigan.

What Steeler's fans have been seeing so far in preseason are problems that can and will be fixed before regulation play begins. R-E-L-A-X!
"Let's see...who do we play next Sunday?"

They may not have been in that positions if they had done anything up until that point. They didn't do **** until after halftime. The entire first half was incomplete passes from Ben. It's a 60 minute game not 30. Again 3 FGs and 2 Tds. Also the defense was missing Ryan Clark and had Gay as the LCB. So the excuses can go both ways.
