I am more worried about 2nd Rd. Hopefully they can hit a homerun this entire draft.

I would not mind steelers double-dip on O-line. I hope LaMichael James is not the pick in Rd 2.
    Steelers Draft 2015
Rd 1: Devante Parker - WR/ Kevin Johnson - CB
    Rd 2: Danielle Hunter -OLB
Rd 3: Steven Nelson - CB
    Rd 4: Derron Smith - S
Rd 5: Henry Anderson - DE
Rd 6: Wes Saxton - TE
Rd 7: Deon Simon - DT

I really hope we don't go OL again soon- unless one just happened to be BPA when we picked. We've invested premium picks in the last three years on it. We really need to reload in other areas too.

With Ben being the key to our offense, I really think we need to consider another offensive linemen (tackle or guard) if one falls to us. Better o-line protects be and improves our run and pass game. I agree that we have other needs. But, we could still upgrade Oline pretty easily.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

If anyone named Glenn, Hill, Silatolu, Fleener, Massie, or Adams slip...They have to be considered. I'm not a David or Thompson fan. If they are truely moving Hood to NT than perhaps Wolfe will be considered. This talk of Worilds to inside and how they feel about SS has me putting ILB on the back burner until 3rd & later. The depth at WR has me looking away from a WR in the 2nd unless Hill falls. Perhaps a trade out or back (if possible) and Miller, James , or Pead. #56 seems a little high for a RB unless there is a run. This is where Cam Johnson & Andre Branch may be slotted so they may look there. Only one NT I would be intersted in here and that would be Ta'Amu & it may be a couple picks too early.

I am getting this wierd feeling of "Deja Vue" on this pick and how everything unfolded on a player. The Steelers knew all along from day one about Adams history and his positive test at the combine but still worked him out at his proday and brought him in for a predraft visit. The Steelers have a very strong connection with OSU's program in the evaluation process. Is Adams another steal in this draft like Decastro? Remember, Gilbert can play all four spots on the OL. His 2010 season was at LT while he started at RT protecting Tebow's blindside the year before. He played G at Florida too and was going to be in the mix in 2011 at G before Colon's injury. Now, Adams negatives made him a risky 1st round selection but the upside now on a franchise LT in the 2nd is more appealing.

How appealing is an OL of:
              Adams-Gilbert-Pouncey-DeCastro-Colon

That being said...Glenn, Hill, Silatolu, Fleener, & Massie should all be gone. If Massie was still there, he would be my #1 choice. So my wish list for #56 is this:
              1. Mike Adams LT
              2. Andre Branch OLB
              3. Alameda Ta'Amu NT

Pick at #86 would be need targets & possible RB & WR. If NT or ILB not adresses at #56 they would have to be considered. With names like Brown, Kendricks, Martin, Miller, & James off the board. Hard to judge without #56 and knowing all of 2nd round...So here are some names on list:

              Ronnell Lewis ILB
Brandon Brooks OG (If no OL at #56)
              Isaiah Pead RB
              Demario Davis ILB
              Bobby Wagner ILB
              Greg Childs WR

Ben has taken us to Super Bowls with less talented OL's than what we'll sport this next season. However, the middle of our D is very suspect now. While I'm happy that DeCastro fell to us, I was really hoping to shore up the D so hopefully we can do that sooner rather than later.

I'm all in with Adams in round 2 but I'd bump Colon in to guard and start Adams and Gilbert at tackle. Who knows how Colon will even hold up at this point after 2 straight season ending injuries.

Bleacher Report had a mock with Massie going to the Steelers at the end of round 2...Adams was picked prior to that...

At that point in the draft, I think Massie would be another value pick...there are still good NT prospects in the 3rd and later...

ILB doesn't concern me nearly as much...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Totally agree. If one falls to us or even if we go up a couple of picks to get a very good OL then I'm all for that. We definitely need at least one more sometime in this draft. 2012 could be the year that we set up the OL for the next 5-6 years like we did when we selected Timmons and Woodley 1 and 2 the same year.

Absolutley right. If we could get Massie at #56 that would be one heck of a draft right there.

Like I said in another post, I think a Mclendon/Hood rotation will work until Hampton gets better. I also think you can get a developmental NT in Round 4 or 5.

I happen to disagree about that to a degree. Can we get by with Mclendon/Hood? Sure. However, getting a quality NT is going to be important because Casey is only back short-term even if healthy just due to age and wear/tear. Hopefully Sylvester will be the answer at ILB, because it sure looked like we wanted Hightower until a steal like DeCastro fell.

Ben has taken us to Super Bowls with lesser OL's than what we'll field next year even if we don't do a single new thing beyond taking DeCastro. The D, however, is in need of either playmakers to get splash plays or top talent to allow the LB's and Troy to do their thing.

In round 2 I hope we get either a RB, ILB, or OLB.... even a trade into early 3rd would be welcome to select our future NT.

the way how the 1st round went a lot of good players are going to fall into the 3rd as well. Maybe Kendricks,Wanger, Adams, Massie

If Massie were available at #56, I wouldn't hesitate. With DeCastro already our Faneca 2.0, Massie could be Marvel 2.0.

                              Massie-DeCastro-Pouncey-Colon-Gilbert. Niiiiice.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Teams seem more erratic than normal this year. I have a feeling someone good is gonna drop and we're gonna benefit big time. I just have this strange feeling after last night, this is going to be the draft of drafts in the Tomlin era.
