I also find it hilarious that everyone of those punks who responded to Pouncey are cowards who wouldn't have the balls to question his manhood to his face.

You do realize he was held out by the medical staff and coaches. He played on a bum leg the entire game the week before. Do you think he played the browns and just suddenly decided he rather be on the sidelines for the playoffs. Absurd.
Ghost, I have never once implied that. I just expect NFL players, who make the money they make, play hurt. Injured is a different story. Flu like symptoms and soreness in an ankle for what is at stake I think should be sucked up. Especially when the teams QB is putting his neck on the line while being hurt.
Irony...it's what's for dinner. You're implying it right now with this post.

It wasn't flu like symptoms. You continue to phrase it this way because it makes your made up story better even though the Pittsburgh doctors and his own teammates have publically stated differently.

Same with the ankle. He mentioned it being sore (I'm guessing it was since its a serious injury) and you've turned it into he should have sucked up a very minor twinge, which isn't at all what it was.

Do you really believe the Pittsburgh Steelers as a collective group didn't make the decision on who was best suited to block 300 lb men for 60 minutes in Denver? Really?
Ok Ghost if this is what you think. I am not going to argue this with you or get in a heated battle over something I know to be different.

Let me just say this...sometimes teams and teammates say things to protect players/teammates.

I'll say it again, I hope I am wrong but I dont think this is the last issue we have with Pouncey.

If by "issue" you are referring to his Twitter account, you are probably right. The problem is in characterizing whatever this is as an "issue".

        It's a non-issue.

Played 11 -13 freshman year. Played all 14 his sophomore AND junior years (All American, Rimington trophey) for 39 -41 games played.

Prior to the 2010 ('09) Sugar Bowl he spent 5 hours in the hospital for kidney stones and still suited up for the Gators that day and was dominating. His toughness was listed as a positive on most NFL scouting reports.

To say he sat for a stomach ache is insanity.

That's like getting riled up about an ignorant message board post.

And, no, I don't see the difference Tebow and Pouncey. Both players have every right to express themselves...
Uhh...how about one expression is made in a socially, morally and ethically acceptable manner and the other expression can hardly be argued as being either socially, morally or ethically acceptable. Pouncey has the "right" to express himself, but by doing so, he demonstrated very poor character. I am VERY disappointed in Pouncey. I hope he realizes the mistake he made and sincerely apologizes.

Completely subjective. What is acceptable for you may not be acceptable for other people.

IMO, what Pouncey said is stupid. Now, I am a high school teacher, so I have a high tolerance for hearing people say stupid things. I also don't hold it against people when they say (or tweet) stupid things because I believe that it is a natural tendency for most people to occasionally say stupid things.

Just because someone says something stupid, it doesn't make them a bad person or reflect poorly on their character or work ethic. It just makes them human.

Re: Uh-Oh! Remember my thoughts on Pouncey?

I think Pouncey is the least of our problems. He was probably in a p!ssy mood because of the game and he needed to blow off some steam. I don't think it's a big deal.

The guy is a professional athlete and I'm sure he was frustrated just like Ryan Clark was about not playing. Granted he probably shouldn't have tweeted those things but he's young and foolish like a lot of young people. Now if he starts tweeting that he'd like to kill certain fans or he likes to "wake and bake" then we might have a problem.
As many on this site think ... The Rooney's suck, Colbert sucks, Tomlin sucks, the coaches suck, and the players suck.

                but Go Steelers!!!

                  Stupid tweet.

About as stupid as claiming he took himself out of a game for a tummy ache, IMO.
In response to his pleas, an officer said: "You think we've never arrested somebody that's made national media? ... We deal with the Bengals all the time."

Chadman agrees with Slapstick & JAR- he's free to his opinion & how he chooses to express it- PARTICULARLY on his twitter account, which you need to FOLLOW to see it.

Tebow's pro-Christianity 'thing' is not something you are required to 'follow'- he promotes it, without a lot of people's consent, on a National (heck- International) stage, before the media.

It might seem harmless- particularly to Christians, but in a world that has so many differing beliefs, he IS 'forcing' his opinions on others, even if they seem harmless & moralistic. You want to be a Christian? Awesome- do it for yourself, not the media.

Pouncey's tweets might be dumb, they might be considered profane, but if someone hadn't shown Chadman the link, Chadman would never have known about it. It would never have bothered me in the slightest. But as a watcher of NFL games, one cannot escape Tebow's opinion, can they?

OK, liberal vs. conservative thought patterns, I guess. I agree we ALL say stupid things and demonstrate poor character choices at times. That doesn't necessarily mean we are stupid and have bad character. I don't know Pouncey so, I obviously can't say he is stupid or has bad character. But, what I can say is that he "tweeted" stupid words and showed bad character by doing so. Overall he may have very good character and normally demonstrate that, but not this time. IMO he made a mistake. We all do. You begin to overcome the mistakes only when you recognize that you made a mistake.

How has Tebow forced his opinion on anyone? People are free to criticize him for his faith, but Tebow has not "forced" his opinion on anyone. The MEDIA is the driving force behind that feeling. Likewise, Pouncey did not "force" his opinion on anyone, they were directed at his "followers" but they were still socially, ethically and morally inapproriate, i.e. not normally acceptable social behavior.

I wouldn't fault Pouncey if he was espousing his belief system on his Twitter account or if ESPN published an article on his faith practices. Pouncey has the right to say anything he wants to say, but he also opens himself to severe criticism for tweeting what he did, much like Mendenhall did last year. I am certainly not arguing his freedom of speech, but his choice of words and mocking of his "followers" was not a smart decision, IMO. He may overall be a great guy, but he didn't show it with those tweets.

Maybe ben should follow his lead and take himself out of games instead of playing TERRIBLE and hurting his team. You think that Pouncey knew that with a bum ankle he was at a severe disadvantage blocking 300 pound defensive tackles opposed to Ben throwing a ball 1/200th the weight of a DT?
