Re: Uh-Oh! Remember my thoughts on Pouncey?

    MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!

how can you compare what pouncey said to what tebow does.

I am semi religious, I pray every night and I go to church, so obviously Tebow does not bother me, but when people are saying he is shoving it down peoples throats, I would say you are wrong, big deal he gets on his knees and says a quick prayer, I have seen that done a million times over my life.

He is offending the same people who are up in arms when you say Merry Christmas to them, he is offending the same people who want to take "GOD" out of the pledge. Those people who are easily offended need to get a life.

You know what makes me sick? Is hearing the "F" word in rap music, seeing horrible behavior out of people like Pacman jones and other athletes who get chance after chance but still screw it up. Those are the people that make me angry, not some guy that is religious and lives life with morals.....

Pouncey and his "I am better than you" attitude is not wrong, or illegal but it stinks. Twitter is stupid, that is why I do not know much about it or even tried to care. If you do not like tebow do not watch sports shows, I hate the NBA, so that means I do not watch espn, because that is all they care about.

Hate the idiots in the league that act like jerks and have been arrested numerous times, not someone who goes on mission trips

So, do you think that Cam Newton, who can actually play football gets even half of the hype as Tebow?
If Cam Newton was playing this weekend, we'd be talking about him.

I am far from religious, and even mentioned in another thread that I'd rather Denver not win the SB because the Tebowmania would be out of hand.

That being said, there is no way that you can describe Tebow even close to being to the same level of "offensive". Tebow is annoying, calling your fans losers is offensive.

Yes, but he sure wouldn't be getting the hype or attention that Tebow is getting, he sure didn't get it during the season and there is only one reason. I, rest my case.

Pouncey must accept the judgments of other people...

As must Tebow. That Saturday Night Live skit was hilarious...

Tebow handled it well. Some of the self-righteous christian pundits did not.

JAR - I gotcha.... but Cam was getting a ton of media attention. I live in SC and so they are always on TV so I watched him play quite a bit. The national media was very one-sided on Cam, trust me. They slobbered all over Cam like they do Tebow. But Cam made a ton of mistakes, bad throws, and interceptions. He also made some ubelievable plays showcasing his arm and athletic ability. I don't recall EVER the media showing the mistakes.... it was always Cam is so great.. blah blah blah. But yet, week in and week out, there's another L in the loss column.

I'm not knocking Cam because he proved me wrong this year. I didn't think he'd play as well as what he did. However, the media was very pro-Cam during the season. And trust me, it was a bit one-sided. The media ALWAYS showed the positives, never the negatives.

Re: Uh-Oh! Remember my thoughts on Pouncey?

The reason people are offended by Teow is because the media has made it anti-christian to not like him.

His faith and good heart are used by fans and talking heads to force you to like him or answer the question "why do you hate the good guy?

Troy was probably in the league 4 to 5 years before we realized he was crossing himself 50,000 times a game. Analyst weren't saying Troy needed to be drafted because of his none football skills.

The whole "he just wins" is crazy talk too... There are at least 2 to 3 QB's in every power conference, besides the Big East, who just win.

Every QB on Alabama and LSU since Saban and Les Miles "wins".... every QB at Florida before Tebow won.

And you may find him offensive based on your own personal biases. However, some of what Pouncey said is objectively offensive. For example, if you said go "f" with my "n" on prime time tv, you would be fined, becuase that langauge is not tolerated for publication in decent society.

Your arguments, which are based on relativism and a twisting of the facts, are wholly without merit.

I find it funny that people find tebowing offensive. The guy is on one knee saying something to himself, to "god", or whoever... no one knows. It's personal to him.

Polamalu does the sign of the cross. He's christian and obviously the sign of the cross would validate that. Because Troy is showed a lot during the games, him praying has been showed many many times.

If I was anti-religious, anti-christian or whatever, I would find Polamalu more offensive. If you didn't know any better, you wouldn't even know what religion Tebow is. Does Tebowing show what religion he is? Nope! Does praying and making the sign of the cross show that your Christian. Yup.

Pouncey's commments were just stupid. I'm a bit disappointed as well. You just DON'T do that. period. That's much more offensive than both. It's being condescending towards the people that support your franchise and the National Football League. Without those fans, he wouldn't even have a job making millions.

Word's are word's and I don't find them offensive. An announcer on ESPN can't say the F word, but in the next segment, the announcers can yammer all they want about little boys being molested at Penn State, that's not offensive at all.

In the next segment, they can hype Tebow to no tomorrow and it sure isn't because he's a great QB. His in your face Christianity and his controversial SB commercials are offensive and he doesn't need to be made a star because of them.

You have to live in a cave to not know what religion Tebow is... not sure how you came to that conclusion.

It doesn't matter what religion Troy is because he is great at his position. Tebow may turn into a fantastic QB but right now he is a great christian, great person and an ugly QB who wins... kinda..

Am i offended by Pouncey's comments? No, not really... but I can see why Steeler fans would be mad. Am I offended by Tebow? Yep... not him personally but I'm offended by the media trying to redefine what a good football player is and what a good christian is...
