Anyway, people who are insulted by Tebow are the same people that you cannot say "Merry Christmas" to, or the same people who want "God" to be taken away from the pledge.
      You mean non-Christians?

As our communities become more diversified & more multi-cultural, maybe it's time all laws & celebrations did become less religion/deity-specific?

The same would go for the laws & celerations across the world though- not specifically to the USA or Australia.

That's when I leave this country. How about less rules for once instead. "God" forbid people have to use their own brains and judgement.

          Fair enough.

That said, what offends one person is water off a duck's back to another.

Being offended by Tebow may be silly to you, but it shouldn't be the source of any kind of ridicule if others find it offensive.

In Chadman's opinion- JAR has copped some fairly unnecessary commentry in retaliation to his opinion of Tebow. Allah forbid people can have their own opinion & have it not correspond with everyone else's...

Re: Uh-Oh! Remember my thoughts on Pouncey?

And btw... "God" and the pledge has nothing to do with it.

"God" has nothing to do with being Christian. "One Nation Under God". That phrase does not say anything about Christianity. That's where this country is so f'in uptight.

God in that phrase can refer to ANY god or religion. ANY!

Scientology, Muslim, Buddhist ... it could be anything. Hell, if "Mickey Mouse" is your "God" then that phrase still works... If your lawn chair is your "God" then that phrase still works just fine.

So people that cry about that phrase are just too uptight and don't think.

The bottom line is that people are to uptight with this stuff. I have "faith" in religion but I'm not a very religious person at all... i don't go to church, maybe one time a year.

With that being said, I don't give a flying f what people call their "God" or whether they think one exists. That's their choice not mine and it doesn't bother me one bit.

Muslim, Buddha, Scientology, Lawn Chair, Mickey Mouse, Christian.... who cares? Is that worth getting upset about as a country or individuals? I hope not... that how 100+ year old wars are started (and never ending). Let people believe what they want to believe and the others mind their own damn business... and vice versa.

Tebow is not forcing Christianity on anyone. That argument is still stupid. It's the media that promotes this freaking circus. I've never heard Tebow say, everyone needs to join Christianity or promote his religion publicly. He's prayed and it gets caught on TV. He thanks "God" for things. Big freakin' deal.

Like Ruthless posted... I see praying on the field all the time....
Ever watch the Oscars? Ever watch the Grammys? A lot of people "Thank God" in their acceptance speeches.... who freakin' cares. I don't know which "God" those people are thanking and nor do I care.

So, kinda like letting people tweet what they like on their personal twitter account? Without fear of retailation?

Yes.... exactly. And the people can retaliate however they want as well. I personally think his Tweet was "****ty" to fans. I now have less respect for the guy to be honest. That's my choice... and I won't be buying any Pouncey jersey or anything because of it.

So yes, he can say what he wants to say..... I'm not all pissed off about it. That's his choice. I can't control what he says. But I will control things that I have control of. And that's not buying anything that has "Maurkice Pouncey" on it.

That the media drives it is a certainty. BUT- Tebow is either Cation Oblivious, or he knows that his actions are watched by millions every time he goes before a camera.

He chooses that medium to spread his messege, even if you believe it to be a well intentioned messege, which it PROBABLY is.

The argument is not that Tebow is akin to Satan.

the argument is that Pouncey gets lambasted for his personal tweet, gets it dragged out, his opinion & personality questioned for something he wrote on a medium you have to CHOOSE to follow, while there are obviously people that don't want to hear Tebow's religious slant, but do not get the opportunity to not hear it when watching a football game.

again, as Chadman said earlier- if it was Tebow's twitter account, or even his own TV show- fine, no problem. But a football game is not a medium to transfer your messege about god/religion to the world- which he does, regardless of how mild you may think his offence.

The comparison you & Philly are hinting at- that Tebow is more evil etc than Pouncey, was never the comparison made.

Same with Tebow.... I'm tired of hearing this crap on TV all the time. So guess what, I haven't watched as much ESPN. Or, I'll switch the channel when they talk non-stop about Tebow. Wow, that's difficult.

And for the record, you don't have to follow someone to get see their tweet. Someone that you follow can re-tweet someone's message. Or if your write @nfl or #nfl (i forget which one) and you follow nfl, then you'll see the message even if it came from someone else besides nfl.

I don't turn away from football. I turn away from the stuff I don't want to listen to. You know how ESPN has the scrolling topic thing on the side. That makes it really easy to determine what I'll avoid

But the same goes for Pouncey. If I follow NFL_Steelers twitter, but I don't follow Pouncey, the same thing can happen. Pouncey could write a comment that says "I hate everyone from Georgia" @NFL_Steelers and it'll show up for me because I follow NFL_Steelers, not necessarily Pouncey. That's just an example...
