Good thoughts. I was trying to approach it more in terms of the investment that the teams were making vs. evaluating the QBs and their chances of succeeding next year. I do agree and didn't think about your point on the Rams. Their investment in Stafford isn't as big a factor as with most teams as they will often make the big move away from a player, regardless of the money tied up. They're the anti-Steelers in that regard.

Luke Altmyer from Illinois is another QB to keep an eye on.

He started out at Ole Miss and was originally the heir apparent to Matt Corral but transferred to Illinois when he lost the starting job to Jaxson Dart.

The deciding factor on what his next move is will be based solely on his development towards becoming an NFL QB. He has a HOF QB grandfather, and one (eventually 2) HOF QB uncles. Even without them, his dad is independently wealthy and has enough of an understanding of the game that there is no need to rush. He will only enter the draft when his family knows he's ready.

Even if it seems like it is at the time, you won’t know for years and you won’t get more than 2 or 3 legit star franchise QBs, if we’re picking in the 20s again we could be stuck. The Steelers grand plan of drafting their guy in Pittsburgh could land them the next Josh Freeman, Christian Ponder, Dwayne Haskins, Josh Rosen, or Teddy Bridgewater.

So what is your "grand plan?"

Steelers are doing what they can. Build up draft capital to allow moves to be made. What else could be done except for "tanking" in 2025 which NO FAN should ever want to haPPEN.

I keep seeing this and glancing at prospects I don’t see anything special. Oh yeah.. Archie Manning!!! The kid with the dad who was a pro who hasn’t done jack squat yet in college but since his daddy is Manning he is going to be the best thing since Peyton? Doubt it

Beck is a fraud and Allar is not anything special.

All this to say, if we think we have a shot at a legit QB in the 2025 draft.. TAKE HIM!!!
