The Steelers and Browns game next Sunday (January 1st) has been pushed back to a 4:15pm start, meaning that if the Steelers are going to sneak in and win the AFC North, it’s going to take a little longer to do it.
The game at Cleveland Browns Stadium was originally scheduled for 1:00 p.m. The league also moved the Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals to a 4:15pm start at Paul Brown Stadium, and you can bet there will be plenty of scoreboard watching.
If the Steelers beat the Browns, and the Ravens lose to the Bengals, the Steelers will overtake Baltimore for the AFC North crown, and also will be at least the #2 seed in the conference, meaning they get the all important bye.
The Bengals are also trying to get a playoff spot. If they top the Ravens, they will be the 6th seed in the postseason, and will face the Houston Texans in Houston during Wild Card Weekend.
If the Ravens beat Cincy, what the Steelers do in Cleveland won’t matter. The Steelers will then turn around and have a game the following weekend at either Denver or Oakland. If the Broncos beat the Chiefs at home, they will win the AFC West. If the Raiders beat the Chargers and Denver loses to the Chiefs, the Raiders will win the west.
