PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Troy Polamalu talked with Joe Starkey of Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93.7 The FAN about his recent head injury, and how much he worries about his future in the league given all the concussions he has suffered.
Troy said he is aware of the research and frenzy surrounding concussions in the NFL, and recognizes the seriousness of the injury.
When asked whether the cause of his concussions may be his style of play, Troy said he wouldn’t be able to change his style of play at this point regardless of the injuries he suffers.
Troy also addressed the fear he has playing the position and how he embraces it saying “I have the fear, no question about it. But I’m willing to fight it.”
Troy’s partner in the Steelers secondary, Ryan Clark also talked with Joe Starkey about the fear of playing the position and the conversation he and Troy have regarding it.
Clark went as far as to say “I’m terrified every time we go out there.”
