Pittsburgh Steelers (8-3) vs. Cincinnati Bengals (7-4): BTSC NFL Week 13 Gameday Open Thread (1st Half)

Considering how infrequently the Pittsburgh Steelers have blown out teams in recent years, it’s perhaps foolish to think this: but I’m expecting a great performance and convincing win by the Steelers on Sunday afternoon. In a puzzling scheduling oddity, the Steelers are meeting the Bengals for the second time in three games, with Pittsburgh’s bye week thrown in there to make it an even four Sundays since the two teams met last at Paul Brown Stadium in the Queen City.

Both squads are coming off hard-fought but less than noteworthy wins in Week 12: the Steelers refused to bury the Chiefs when they had the chance to and ending up escaping Arrowhead Stadium with just a 13-9 win; earlier in the day, the Bengals overcame a ten-point deficit to squeak out a three-point victory over the Browns. In that regard, both teams enter Week 13 eager to play much better than they did seven days ago.

Enjoy the game, keep the language and emotions (relatively) in check, and hopefully we’ll be reveling in a much better outing this week, a comfortable lead in the wild card, and perhaps even a return to (our rightful) place atop the AFC North standings thanks to a Ravens clunker against the Browns.

For updates on the inactives for the Steelers and Bengals, as well as for the other 14 games being played on Sunday and Monday of Week 13, take advantage of the leg work being done by SB Nation’s fantasy site, Fake Teams.

Go Steelers!
