Like I said we can do all the WR "what ifs" we want but IMO it will come down to the TEs and RBs to pull these last couple of games out from a passing game standpoint. Get the ball to Heath, Mendy and Mdwelde and let them get yards after the catch and eat up the clock to get our defensive secondary off the field as much as possible.

Never thought I wpould have to say that about a Steelers defense.

Joey's game is speed, not possession, like McDonald. They obviously thought that he could contribute before the season... he was offered a contract before The Hoodie swooped in with a bigger one. It appears they still prefer him to McDonald. If he can help stretch the field like Sweed was supposed to, tremendous. He was still running well in Tampa the last 2 years; the problem there was that he couldn't stay on the field, and that their QB, besides walking like a duck and quacking like a duck, couldn't throw the ball more than 30 yards, or see over his offensive line - not a good formula for success for a deep receiver. If his biggest crime in Foxboro was an inability to develop a chemistry with a qb coming off of major knee surgery in a 2 week time frame, I say give him a shot. Can't contribute less than the guy he's replacing, and unless he drops a pass that hits him in the hands to lose us a division game, he does less harm.

Plus, I hope that Coach Tomlin DOES pick his brain about The Hoodie's play book. This is a ploy that the Cheats* constantly pulled on us in the Cowher years, and one that BC was frankly never smart or thorough enough to reciprocate. Cowher was a motivator and teacher, but never a great gameplanner or gamesman. I see Coach Tomlin showing more in these regards - I applaud the onsides. He's turning into all the good of "The Hoodie" in terms of thoroughness and smarts, without any of the paranoia, cheating, homewrecking, or other generally sociopathic and d*uchey behavior.
This is what I was thinking. FO predicting we make playoffs and face the Cheats. Ha.

Lets hope he can contribute. Even if its 2 plays like Limas did against Ravens last year, it will help.

Nor dished out the physical pounding.
Yes, and that takes it toll as well. He's definitely dished out as much as he's taken. It is amazing how good of a year that he is having this season.

It does take it's toll. However, a weakened wounded DB tends not to hit you as hard the NEXT time knowing it might be coming right back at him. It's give/take. In my opinion Ward's dishing out punishment is more take than give.

Last I checked, both Hines and Holmes could end up with their best season EVER as Steelers in terms of yardage. Hines, I think, needs to average 100 yds/game to the end the season. Holmes is much closer to breaking his yardage record. This is pretty amazing but it also tells you how much our offense has evolved since Ben got here.
