    ghetto, I'm a huge PanterA fan, and walk is a great song. but it's a song that would never be used
    bullet for my valentines - 4 words to choke upon would also be a good song.

      Music is all about personal tastes my friend. I don't like Metalica. Never have and never will. I don't think their songs are that good, I don't think the writing is that good (lyrics) and I don't think the musicianship is that good. Popularity doesn't mean squat...Britney Spears has sold a ton of records too. So have a lot of other sub-par artists. The Bee Gees...ABBA...the list goes on.

      As for Styx, they've had a few songs that I liked, but overall I think they sold a lot of records because they had some big hits with some schlocky songs. Loreli...Mr. Roboto...come on! :P

      Just to prove to you that I'm not BSing, here's a Styx song that I like. Snowblind from the Paradise Theater album. Ignore the cheesy video the person posting to youtube used. Just listen to the song.

      I wasn't trying to turn this into a "my taste in music is better than yours" thread. I simply stated that I believe Metalica to be over rated as a band. That's all. If you like them that's fine with me...it's all good my friend.

      As far as buying DeYoung's solo album...hey, we all screw up every now and then. I bought Eddy Grant's "Killer On The Rampage" because of "Electric Avenue". It didn't take me long to realize the mistake I'd made, but still .

      Like you said, music is all about personal taste. People will over rate the music they like and under rate the music they don't. I just think that when a band is able to sustain the kind of popularity that Metallica has, for such a long time - then there's gotta to be something behind it.

        i hate styk and rennegade, but when ever i hear that song i get pumped up and think about the steelers. i guess i dont hate the song since i have such a good association with it. i love old metallica but there are so many better songs than enter sandman. i love hip hop rap and a wide variety of rock, unfortunately there are few rap songs that can be played at any kind of sporting event because of language. that being said my choice would either be cowboys from hell by pantera or in your face by 311. i actually hate pantera and i think they are trash, but for some reason that song makes me wanna rip off someones head

            I woulda said CFH to by PanterA but that song was written after the boys met the cokeboys (they're from dallas and all fans of the girls-except phil who is from NO)
            but CHF, great song. I have the logo tat'd on my head. no joke. they made me want to pick up the guitar which has essentially been my biggest love for 19 years.,

              an even better song from the CFH album that I would like to see played is "Domination"

                      I think Heinz Field is the only place in the world where Renegade rocks. There's
                      something about that song that gets the crowd pumped and I wouldn't change it.

                      But lets say Michael Jackson bought the rights to all Styx recordings and he wouldn't
                      let it play at Heinz without collecting a huge fee, and those cheap Rooney's, or whoever
                      owns the team in Bizzaro Land, wouldn't pay the fee, then I'd go with Filter - Hey Man

                        Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio once said "Heinz Field is the only place left in the USA that Styx or REO Speedwago sell out. If you would book those bands at the LA Forum, 8 people would show up".

                                Jeez...I leave for a week, and you hosers wanna dump Renegade. Yikes. I'm with SN1 on this one. Sure, the song itself may be outdated and all, but it still gives you chills when they play it live at Heinz, and it pumps the crowd up every time. If you had to replace it with a more contemporary song, though, I like Jiga's suggestion for Hey Man, Nice Shot. Great song. It came on the ol' iPod today, and the song gave me a bit of a second wind in the middle of a 4 hour flight home.

                                One song that I thought that would make for a pretty good Jumbotron collage (but for more of a pre-game type of song to be played right before the players come out for introductions as opposed to the in-the-middle-of-the-game pump-up-the-crowd song stlrz d was looking for in this thread) would be "Welcome to the Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance.

                                It would be a good beginning of the game "Welcome" to the crowd, followed by a "Black Parade" of Steelers coming out of the tunnel. During the beginning, slow part of the song with the "When I was a young boy, my father took me into the city" part it could show slow-motion black-and-white clips of a boy and his day both walking into a game in full Steeler gear, followed by highlights from past Steeler Super Bowl victories, with specific shots of Steelers pounding Vikings, Cowboys, Rams, and Seahawks players when the song says "Will you defeat them, your demons, and all the non-believers, the plans that they have made?" Then, when the song gets more up tempo, it could switch to full-speed color-mode featuring current players knocking the snot out of people. Lyrics like "Your memory will carry on," "So paint it black and take it back," and "You can try, you'll never break me" seem like perfect fits for this type of anthem. We could even have a little fun with the "Disappointed faces of your peers" part (there are plenty of clips of whiny, crying Browns, Ravens, and Bengals fans that you could have a field day there).
                                Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

                                Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

                                We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

                                We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
