Keenan has been impressive in camp so far, but until they claw it from his cold, dead hands, I will assumed that Deshea Townsend is still our nickel corner.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

True but I smell a TC ouster which could translate into a DT transfer.

So far, and I know its very early, it seems like this year's draft class will contribute more to the team than last years draft class did last year.

So you see Deshea making the full transition to back-up safety?

If he does go S, it would be to free safety and I guess Mundy would have to back up Troy since he weighs 25 lbs more than DT. We just dont have that many safeties in camp and TC is small and old. (and cant tackle) This is all predicated on Mundy 's preseason performance, TCs job depends on it.

You did and I am impressed.

Regardless of who I THINK will win, there is a lot of reason to HOPE that Redman wins. It would mean that We are moviing the ball well and he is punching it in. (meaning TOUCHDOWNS). Of course that could also mean Mendy isn't panning out as well./

I'm choosing "Pick Six Burnette". I think he'll get some substantial playing time by mid season.

Or, Parker has been benched in favor of Mendenhall and we're using Redman the touchdown maker on the goal line.

Rarely do first year 3rd round WRs do anything of value. He's got 4 veterans in front of him. He'll get some looks and could produce some, but I'm more hoping that next year he starts to bloom on the field. Seriously don't expect much from him this season.

He is fast and can catch, but he is not going to be able to run good routes yet and when they see him, they'll give him plenty of room so they don't get beat deep. He'll be confused about coverages, etc. He will not do much other than get accustomed to the NFL.
On defense, guys with people behind them, do better.

I'd go with Hood. He's got a motor and although he'll make mistakes, he'll wreck some havoc in the process.

And possibly Redman 'could' win the goalline job if his nose is legit. If he scores 6-8 TDs in goalline situations, he'd win. But that's premature at this point.

Maybe a STs demon emerges from the rookies, like Lewis. If Burnett or Lewis does well on STs and gets some defensive PT due to being active on gamedays, one of them could do something to merit the award.

The difference with Wallace is that unlike our previous now departed #3/#4 WR this one can actually play on special teams and make a contribution beyond catching the ball.

The same for Burnett on the defense. Even though he may end up the #4 or #5 CB he will get way more touches as a punt returner.

Both these rookies will get more chances to impact the season than any of the other rookies on the team. Chances get you the recoignition you need for awards. It will be Burnett or Wallace.
