Re: Ben Roethlisberger has to deal with the price of fame
Ben may well be a real butthead, but on Saturday I saw him go out of his way to make a special day even better for one young boy. Long after training camp practice, while trying to get a photo of Ben signing autographs, I heard a man yell at Ben, "Ben, today is my boy's birthday!" Ben reached out and gave the boy his autograph and then paused, reached down and took off one of his cleats. He autographed it and handed it to the the boy. I thought that said a lot about Ben. Also, the fact that the only two players remaining on the field were Ben and Hines. They both really went out of their way to sign autographs, long after everyone else had left the field.
