If any of you recall, Roberto Clemente was famous for bemoaning injuries. Phil Musick commented in the Roberto documentary that if you would ask Roberto how he was doing he would actually tell you starting with his sore back.

Re: Is Big Ben a drama queen?

Drama Queen is a bit over the top and irresponsible to use.

Maybe a bit of a Diva, slight Prima Donna. But when a man sacrifices that much around teammates, ain't sheet anyone can and should say to or about him. If he says he has a broken toe or a cracked rib, he may think he does. Whatever it is, it probably hurts like hell. Who cares if the ribs were cracked or some ligaments were damaged nearby.
I've got a cracked heel right now...but it may only be a damaged ligament. Either way it hurts like hell. One doesn't hurt more than the other. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow for all those worried about me

I broke my fibula last year and had no idea cause I tore the ligaments in my ankle at the same time. They randomly found the broken leg on 1 of the 3 X-rays for my ankle 3 days later. I dang sure knew my ankle ligamant was torn. Point being, pain is pain and Ben likely has alot of it. I doubt he's making up the pain, regardless if he really knows what is causing it.

I hear you aggie.. but irresponsible to use?

whatever the term it's just a question to debate.... I mean let's be honest.. it hits like the last summer after a SB victory but to a different part of the gut...

It brings up another uh-oh to the season and causes.... more drama!!!

It's like Biggie's song... "More SB's More problems"

Ben has grown up quite a bit.

He spoke his mind and showed his immaturity at times in the first few years. He does that far less frequently now. He has become a leader.

Now, I don't know if he is a jerk or a nice guy. But, like most of us, I suppose he is probably both. I certainly hope he didn't force himself on this woman. I'm not sure how I'd explain that to my sons.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

Re: Is Big Ben a drama queen?

I'd say he could be considered a "Drama Queen" in light of all the lying, phantom injuries (ribs, toes etc) and his "putting extra's" on the grimacing in pain for the cameras after throwing picks and incompletions.

But much of this "Monster" can also be attributed to some of the fan base and his coaches as well,.. in terms of them always coddling him and making some type of excuse for the periods during the season in which he plays horribly.

You know like,..."Oh, he was just a rookie!", "It was the bike accident !","Oh, it's his shoulder !" or "Uuuh,.. it's the elbow or his bruised psyche,...that's why he plays poorly against better teams and decently against the bottom feeders !"

But as mentioned,...it's sometimes just the nature of the type of personality (arrogance) that it takes for some to play the position. (QB) Similar to the type of personalities one often sees in Corners and Receivers.

This is not true of all players at these positions,..especially not most of the greats,...but if one has ever played football,....you are very familiar the "excuses, excuses", "Ego trip" type of cats. lol

Bottom line for me though is,..i hope that he (Ben) can continue to grow and play with focus this season. Not because i'm that big of a supporter,....but at the end of the day,..we have NO other viable options at Qb on the roster.(IMO)

Babooshka's are so 1813 Northern European immigrant. I'd go with a traditional Swiss

What lying about 'phantom' injuries. I guarantee you he was in REAL pain, not phantom. My previous statement about not being able to distinguish between certain injuries holds here. He may not have known what the injury was exactly, but the pain was there. A broken bone needs more attention to heal but quite often doesn't hurt as much as a bad contusion. As for the camera enhanced problems, I think some are remembering their own irritation after such plays and they are actually enhancing the problem. Dude takes an awful beating all season long, let's not trivialize it. Other guys get hit while hitting. Ben and Hines take alot of punishment to make our offense work. If you don't like him hanging his head or shaking his hand after a gaff, then look away. Its insignificant. These things get blown out of proportion.

I can't believe he got himself into that appendectomy problem. Wonder if he got fined for that?

No, he's not. If you watch the games and see the type of abuse Ben takes (almost on every friggin snap) I don't think you'd believe the injuries and the wincing were faked.

And I'm trying to understand how a motorcycle accident and a rape accusation makes someone a drama queen?
