Is Big Ben a drama queen?

    just sayin'

for the record I think he is innocent... but out of 53 Steelers why is Ben in another post SB distraction?

Dude stays in some drama.... and me calling him a drama queen is not a knock on his skills... he is the best in the biz...

NFL players are targets and these women don't want them for their high IQ's.. have fun but make sure they sign that release form before you tap it...

Whether you agree with me or not I know ALL of you were saying the same thing I was before this news dropped...

"THERE IS NO REASON WE SHOULDN'T GO DEEP IN THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR UNLESS SOMETHING CRAZY HAPPENS TO BEN"

God is working overtime to make sure Ben's star plunges back to earth after each SB...

first the motorcycle accident... now this... after the 7th SB will he be kidnapped by aliens? geez!

Being subject to events or accidents largely beyond your control doesn't make you a "drama queen" - it makes you just one unlucky SOB.

Don't get me started on the "drama queen" stuff though. Somehow, Bengals/Browns fans have it ingrained in their heads that Ben is a drama queen and always blames his teammates and injuries for his failures. I never hear the end of it and it drives me CRAZY!

I, for one, thinks he is a drama queen. Not a knock on the man, cuz I love that he is a Steeler.

Even on the sidelines, he always seems to be in agony & yet he always seems to overcome the obstacles and lead us to victory. I know he gets sacked alot & I'm sure the do take their toll, but I just think sometimes he plays to the camera.

Again, I'm not knocking him, it's just my thoughts on the question.

true.. he takes hits and wins games in dramatic fashion... but this off the field stuff is killing me.... LOL!!!!

I predict an 0-5 start followed by 11 straight wins and a wild card birth with Ben breaking his leg in the 1st game and STILL leading us to victory...

plus he will represent himself in the trial and win during the bye week!

No. It's not wincing *for* the cameras when the cameras are always on you...especially when you're consistently one of the most frequently hit QBs in the league.

I'd love to see people who make those claims take the same kind of abuse...I suspect then we'd see some serious wincing, and even outright crying. If they were able to remain conscious that is.

there are no qb's that do not like the spotlight. all qb's love the attention. stlrz d is right. ben takes more punishment than any qb in the nfl and rarely misses games so i think that makes him one tough sob. does he like the attention and spotlight of course but what qb doesnt? if a motorcycle accident and an apidectomy in the same offseason doesnt get you a 0-5 start i dont think this will

I think there are times Ben plays for the cameras. I don't ever recall him making injuries as an excuse but the seeds are planted in people's minds with all the grimacing and wincing shown on his face.

Is it an injury or is he playing possum for the opposition? If it is an injury, the other teams notice. They can take advantage of a weakness. If he is playing possum, there can be benefits.

Maybe he should just get up and smile like Hines?

Just my view on the above. Ben is not a drama queen. The guy has taken some real nasty hits and when something hurts, some people wince, and some people don't. As it was said, the cameras are always on him and I doubt if he is even aware of them.

I think he played hurt all year. The hit on the opening game from Mario WIlliams had to do shoulder damage, then Shaun Roger's late hit on the same shoulder really aggravated it.

One of the ways a a quarterback gets attention is beating the crap out of most everyone and earning the hate of other fan bases. See Brady and Manning. Ben has reached that point.

AFC North fans love to call him Jen but in the same breath they post message after message hoping he gets hurt.

The guy is who he is, and the Steelers rise and fall on what he does.

Re: Is Big Ben a drama queen?

regarding the injuries... some players hide their injuries and others make sure everyone knows of every injury.

I'm not talking about the real or fake injuries.. although we all know Ben plays possum at times...

I'm talking about the weird news stories that always seem to follow Ben around...

Remember when Holmes got in trouble when he was drafted and Ben said he tried to call Holmes but he never returned his call and Holmes said he never got a call?

Maybe it was a slick way to reel Holmes in but this is why I wonder about the drama of Ben... he is great at giving the papers a story in the summer..LOL!!!!

Sure Ben is the king of Pittsburgh so the media will turn to him to sell papers.. but I'm impressed how Ben is able to keep his name in the papers with weird off field antics..

he sells papers in a recession.. I'm impressed.

I don't know.... broken toes after the Pats game in 2004 that he and Cowher went back and forth over? The cracked ribs that were.. then weren't.. then were...

whether the injuries are real or not... obviously the staff doesn't want the info out and Ben is quick to tell the media what hurts..

this adds to the drama... but I agree.. if he wasn't winning games it would all be ignored.

like I said earlier... my opinion has nothing to do with his talent.. he is the #1 QB at this point in the NFL...
