Re: Is Hines heading down Steve-McNair-road?

Is it really surprising when pros are cheating on their wives? The amount of tail being thrown at them is probably insane.

Regardless, my girlfriend's friend had a relationship with Hines when he was married. Take from it what you will but it happens.

Past that the photo really doesn't mean anything. Heck, just this weekend my friend put this up on facebook and I can assure you nothing happened but a picture.

nothing may have happened that night but trust... all these Steelers are getting much booty. Most don't live in the Burgh year round so it's real easy to have jump offs in different parts of town.

Mr. Luther King, JFK, Bill Cosby, Clinton, Stanford, Larry Bird.. pick any athlete or hero in your life and I bet there is a mistress somewhere close by.

Sorry to say it fellas but even the most faithful guy can and will slip up if you have tail thrown at you EVERY day ALL day!!! We all say "not us" but we are thinking like the average guy who gets hit on once.. maybe twice a year.. and I'm talking "let's go get a room right now" hit on.. not that "she was checking me out"

I used to be in a band and we opened for major acts and even as an "opening act" the stories were crazy... I don't see how anyone who lives that lifestyle could be one...

wives of these kinds of men know what they sign up for.. and over half of these women that marry these guys are no different then the mistress.. they just lucked up, saw the potential in college and held on.... or got pregnant.

I'm not saying a healthy marriage can't thrive in the NFL but they are rare..

At some point you have to stand for something or you will will fall at anything. Do these players or famous people have temptation thrown in their faces ? Yes. Is it hard not to test the waters ? Yes.

I really don't want to know about their personal lives to tell you the truth. Do I judge a person on their morales ? Yes. Should I ? No. I don't know if not agreeing with their choices means I judge them or not. I wouldn't treat them badly or anything.

These guys are not heros to me and never will be. They, like everyone else has the responsibility to live a good life that kids (kids) can admire and to follow the right road in life.

Why is McNair a hero ? He's no hero. I don't know if he was cheating on his wife or not. Were they married, apart or divorced ?
If he was married it is especially a bummer for his wife and kids.

Why get married if your going to cheat ? We all have had our chances to get some strange and I doubt everyone acts upon it. People that do that are weak. If you cheat on your wife and family, how can you ever be considered a quality person or have any value to your family, friends etc ?

I'm just curious about who "Stanford" is???
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I'm guessing he meant Mark Sanford, governor of South Carolina. You know, the guy who preached about family values all the while he was doin some woman in Argentina.

Re: Is Hines heading down Steve-McNair-road?

correct.. Mark Sanford was about 3 weeks ago but was pretty high profile for a week. I just picked names out of the air to show how easy it is to crash and burn over some tail.. look at the Kate plus 8 guy.. he is a catch now.. and he has 8 kids.

but how many of these women cheat on their husbands? This isn't a one way street though fellas.. when these guys are hard at work some wives are hard at play...

Shaq's found out his wife was giving his money to her new boyfriend.... he would have divorced her until he realized it was cheaper to keep her.

                    Larry Craig might disagree.

Stuff like this goes on all the time but the media and public like to blast the high profile type when it happens. Not fair, just how it is when your in the public eye. Not saying it's right.

Re: Is Hines heading down Steve-McNair-road?

I don't hold it against an athlete for doing this, it is a well-known aspect of the lifestyle. Any woman who marries an athlete must accept it, because it almost certainly will happen. Kobe Bryant's wife knew it and the decided upon punishment was a sparkling new diamond ring which she flashed endlessly to support him.

OTOH we also have to keep some perspective. Being a good QB makes you a good QB, not a great family man. Likewise, being a leader in the huddle does not equate to humanitarian. Doing some charity work makes you a philanthropist, not a moral guide on everything else.

Take it for what it is. McNair was a good NFL QB who did a lot of work within his community, screwed around on his wife - probably with her knowledge, and died young.

Not unlike Michael Jackson. He was a guy who could sing, dance, and entertain. OTOH he was also a very strange man who may or may not have fondled children, but I would not send my kids over to find out. I also would never have consulted him for moral guidance.

They are people, no more, no less.
