Here is an interesting off-season exercise in case anyone is interested:
If you could take one and only one guy from each team (except for our Steelers...we will leave them out of this) to build a team, who would you take? Come up with a starting lineup on each side of the ball (your offense should have two wideouts, one tight end, one fullback, and one running back...your defense can be either a 3-4 or a 4-3, so that will determine how many DT's and ILB's you choose, and also what type of DE's and OLB's will be best for your particular defense). Add a kicker, punter, kick returner, punt returner, long snapper, and a special teams captain for your coverage units. Also, pick a head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator. That's 31 spots...one for each team (again, no Steelers). Remember, you are building a team, so focus on guys that are young and will be around for a while. Although Walter Jones has had the more impressive career, he is nearing the end, so you may prefer Joe Thomas as a left tackle, since he should be around for the next decade or more. Choose wisely...if you take LeRon McClain to be your fullback, that means that you cannot have Ed Reed as your free safety. For the Patriots, you might take Brady or Moss or Seymour or Mayo or Belichick. Hmmm...
I'm interested to see what you folks might come up with. I'll try to post mine later this afternoon. I've got to think about some things first...
