Ike's deal is five years for $22.5 million with a $6.4 million signing bonus. However, that was signed in 2006. A lot has changed since then.
Bmac at the very most is worth what Andre Goodman got from the Broncos--5 yrs/$25M. I wouldn't pay him anything more than that. Even that is taking a risk he can stay healthy. If he balks let him leave and bring in Leigh Bodden or Patrick Surtain for a look see.

Great news that they re-signed the chronic pile-on'er, Ray SLowis. Bad news if they sign the perennial all-pro matt birk.

I don't get the analysts who were critizing Birk just because he didn't do so great against the Eagles. That Eagles D-Line did pretty well against almost everyone they faced.

I was happy to see Jason Brown leave, but Birk replacing him is just as bad...

Yeah it's official...both are signed. The ray ray signing doesn't bother me. Actually I think they're wasting over $7 million/year on him. That's a good thing.

The Birk signing sucks though. He's only 33. I think he'll play well for them and I'm not happy about that.

Good luck moving your family from relatively safe, small town-ish minny to the murder/crime "capital" birk. I hope that extra money covers your new security expenses. Plus, welcome to the afcSteelersNorth and prepare to have your azz whooped afcnorth stylee on a regular basis

Actually the Twin Cities aren't all that safe either. Not as bad as Baltimore, but not exactly safe either. I just watched an episode of Gangland on the History Channel that was about the vicious Hmong gangs in the twin cities. Pretty nasty.

Don't forget his college days when he had to fight for survival on the mean streets of Harvard!
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Yeah, no sh!t, not exactly the school of hard knocks

Truth is, I really do not like this signing and am a bit jealous. So, you can expect me to look for, and exaggerate, each and every negative aspect of this situation

If only they would have shelled out a ginormous contract for highly overrated Fart Snott. And I hope Samari Rolle's reported disgruntlement grows in intensity

No doubt about that. I lived in Baltimore for 8 months (late '06 to mid '07) after having lived in the midwest starting in 1979. I've also been to the Twin Cities. There is a big difference no doubt.

Funny thing is if we'd have signed Birk everyone would complain about his age and how we're never going to get young on the line...blah blah blah...I'm not saying it would come from this group or board but in general Steeler nation loves to complain even after a SB win.

                                Robert Royal-TE-Browns Mar. 5 - 11:45 am et

Browns signed TE Robert Royal, formerly of the Bills. Scout.com's Adam Caplan reports the deal is worth $10 million over four years.
It only includes $3M guaranteed, but is essentially the same deal Buffalo gave Royal three offseasons ago. Now 31, Royal figures to be the Browns' starting tight end with Martin Rucker working in on passing downs. Neither is likely to catch more than 30 passes or be worth fantasy consideration.
