OK, people, make up your minds -- are we in a tough spot at WR or did Kahn do a great job at the position? They were quick to bail on DJ and that might have been enough to get it done.

Steelers aren't going to have a franchise QB cap hit for several years most likely and they need help now with this rapidly closing window.

1 ) We don't have a franchise QB. 2 ) We seveal teams do and still pay thier ohter players. The draft is the key for both.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Gotta be one of the most bizarre takes on the Aiyuk drama I have heard to date. But, leave it to a Browns fan to come up with such a concocted storyline:

I think they should be more worried about whether their QB will finally show up to play football this season.

If you believe the reporting that we had a shot on Aiyuk, the problem wasn't the contract. It was the compensation to SF. Apparently the supposed deal was a 3-way trade that also included the Broncos because we didn't have a WR to give back in the deal.

As I've said before, I think trading DJ wasn't a good idea if it's true that the DJ we got back was going to get cut anyway. But this was the problem going into the draft with so many significant needs. There was no way to fill them all. And WR and CB got the short end of the stick. Trading a WR for a CB didn't help the total need (although now we just need a slot CB instead of a slot and an outside CB).

I think it's pretty clear that we didn't have much of a shot at Aiyuk and he was just following Debo's "how to negotiate with the 9ers" playbook. Sound like he got something like +$4M per year out of it if the previous reports were true that SF offered $26M and we were offering $28M.

I do think we're in a tough spot at WR. I think Kahn though there would be more or better options available to him that didn't pan out.

If Pickens stays healthy, it probably won't be catastrophic. But we're probably no better than the bottom 3rd when looking at WR groups across the league.

Hopefully we get QB play that's good enough to elevate the WRs on the roster. And that we don't get down by multiple TDs often this year.

Glad BA signed an extension. We are not 1 good WR away from a SB run. We will need every draft pick when they finally realize they need to rebuild.
