I wonder if Mason would have stayed to backup Russ if KP was a little b earlier and demanded a trade.

At least he’s going to his hometown team living out his childhood dream.

This trade seemed pretty abrupt tbh especially given the team has just 1 QB on the roster now. It also sort of doesn't make sense that the Eagles would be the team giving the best return when you factor in the QB situation currently in the NFC. But maybe idk, like I said I wouldn't be surprised if Eagles end up trading him to another team.

I said a few days ago I thought Pickett’s attitude at the end of last season may have raised eyebrows within the organization. Obviously it did.

I liked the kid’s moxie and work ethic but it was obvious he didn’t have it. Mason came in from 3 years bench rot and ignited this offense. Maybe it wasn’t all on Canada after all.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Weren’t you the one that told me I should leave the board for stating the Steelers might draft a qb in round 1 or 2 this year? That it wasn’t a possibility they would give up on Pickett this soon?

I don’t recall saying that but I guess it’s possible. However, it doesn’t sound like something I’d say.

I think the Steelers are going to get Fields

Don’t they have to immediately decide on his 5th year option which would be 25.6 million guaranteed?

Don't know, I just have a feeling they are going to get him.

Big gamble with 25.6 million dollars. Unless we get him on the cheap and don’t pick up his option. Then he is ours for 1 year.

No, they don't. But if they don't pick it up, he's a free agent after the season. Maybe let him watch Russ, if they don't keep him give Fields a good 1-year prove it deal.

I've read a few articles lately that have said just that. It's a bit ironic though, that the guy that replaces Pickett is known to have quite the attitude and was twice paid a large sum of money to go away.

Back in October, if someone had told me that by March, Mitch Trubisky would be axed, Rudolph would be gone in free agency and Pickett would be traded, I would have told that person he was NUTZ.

                          What a crazy off season.

                            Clarification?

Sounds like KP felt he was misled

and how do you not contact the top QB holdover on your roster about such a move? He had to find out about it on social media???

Everything about our handling of QBs has been a disaster since Ben left. This off-season is a smashing of that big, red reset button.

Should tell you the org didn't think of Pickett's status as the top QB.
Pickett's idea of competing for the starting job was asking to be traded. Basically whimped out. That's not a guy you want as a future leader.

A player's play always forces a team's decision. Just like MRs play at the end of last season forced them to start him in the playoffs.
