Less than what I thought. I bet we would have offered more if we didn't pick up Wilson.
I really doubt it, it's pretty clear that MR wasn't what the team and Tomlin/Rooney wanted in a starter or even backup arguably, I mean how many times did a struggling Trubisky start over him through not 1 but 2 seasons?

No, I said he wouldn’t get any serious offers. Not sure what I said in a prediction thread but the talk of him getting a starting gig was silly talk.

Do you really believe the NFL is looking at Mason as an option for a starting gig in 2024? Do you really think he is going to get a nice offer? Why? Because he beat Cincinnati and Seattle? Because he beat the Ravens backups? Sure, WE rate his performance high because we were desperate for wins. WE rate his performance

actually found my prediction. I said 6 to 7 Mill at the highest.

There are 2 types of wrong.

      Wrong and Wrong as phuck!!!

20 mill was always crazy talk.

Man, you would have thought other teams knew he was a third round steal that had first round talent, they would be fighting to sign him.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

Ok fair enough, I thought you replied to me about MR getting vet minimum elsewhere so he might as well re-sign in Pittsburgh. I was like what although it looks like most of us overshot his value.

I'll say this, I'd much rather have MR going into next season at 3.6 mil whatever it is vs. Kirk Cousins at 100 mil guaranteed! Good luck, Falcons.

Cousins got some type of voodoo on the NFL. Never seem a guy with so little success get so many millions.

There was that QB from Oklahoma with the weak knees. He got a few bags somehow as well. Just wild.

but even the person who said vet minimum was way closer than Joel. “Up to” 3.65 means he is getting like 2 mill.

Could be that he was pushing for 1 year. If he can play more and show he's better than a QB3, then maybe he can get a contract like the one we gave Mitch

I see KP and MR at this point about the same QB overall. Can KP grow some like it seems MR has is the question. Oh and how much better is he away from Crapada.
I also think if you overpaid MR he stays and they only do that if they don?t think KP is or will be better then him. But you might also be right. My perspective is just different.

Also possibly funny not funny did Mitch get paid more the MR as a back up? I will have to go look.
I think about the same is probably fair enough.

The post I replied to said KP was much better. I don't think that's true.

I think the Wilson deal is an unusual circumstance.

If it didn't fall into our laps, I think Mason would have been our preferred option. But who knows?

Mason will get a chance to play good for him. Levis faded down the stretch for the Titans. All he gets is 3+M$ per. What did Mitch get?

You know I firmly believe that most so called talent evaluators in the NFL don't know their a** from a hole in the ground. Mason is a decent QB and he will show it.
Sam Darnold got 10M$ to play somewhere and Minshew got 25M$ for 2 years somewhere. Mason is not far from him and Darnold is nothing.

We should have kept him but I suppose Kenny will now be the backup. We will pick up a QB somewhere, maybe early in the draft if someone falls.

I think we will regret letting Mason go.

MR has beared a whole lot of unusual circumstances in PIT. Probably breathing a sigh of relief to leave.

We won’t regret it. Minschew has 37 starts. Sam Darnold has 56 starts.

Mason has 14 starts in 6 years.

Those 4 games are not convincing anyone to overpay for his services. The only people willing to overpay are a few Steeler fans.

Until Mason puts a whole season together of good football he isn’t getting paid.

If he'd stayed with the Steelers for 7 or 8 more seasons, he might have accumulated a season's worth of starts

I thought Mason would land in Minnesota. Kind of surprised at Tennesse but Levis isn't proven yet, perhaps that played into it.
