It's crazy to see TJ Watt squarely behind Myles Garrett and Micah Parsons in the Defensive MVP race. I get that Garrett anchors the number one defense in the league. But in every article I read or segment I see on TV, the only statistical support for either Garrett or Parsons are these weird PFF metrics, such as pass rush win rate. The only thing Watt is usually credited for is sacks. I almost never see any article that mentions Watt leads both of those dudes in just about every traditional defensive metric possible:
Sacks
Sack Yards
Tackles For Loss
Tackles
Forced Fumbles (tied with Garrett)
Fumble recoveries
Int
Passes Defended (batted balls)
Defensive TDs
How in the world is Watt possibly behind Garrett and Parsons? Why is nobody mentioning the statistical dominance of Watt over these two in every meaningful way?
