I hope not; I don't like the idea of trying to hide KP. That's not what we need to do. He needs to be allowed to make the growth mistakes he needs to make to get better. I"m not saying throw the ball all over the field and abandon the run, but I"m saying run a balanced offense and when it's time for KP to throw, then he needs to make the prescribed pass with the accuracy we expect from a starting QB in the NFL. If he can't, then he can't. But this enabling talk around KP has got to stop. He has to pull his own weight on this team. And if he can't, then we know what we have to do in the next draft.
I'm not saying we should "hide" or "enable" KP, but I think a working offense that runs the ball more and better is what we need, it will set the table to put him in position to be successful. He will still have to make plays. I'm thinking approx. 60/40 run/pass ratio, something on that order -- maybe 55/45 ...
I agree with Chuck, get the playmakers involved ... throw past the sticks on 3rd down ... take some shots down the middle ... but build off the running game so you can use PA ... have less predictability as to what kind of play you're going to run

Okay.
Using the run to set KP up is a good idea. But he’s going to have to show us a level of consistent accuracy on passes that we’ve yet to see. And if he doesn’t, there should be no more “blame Canada “ talk.
They have to get the passing game going, we can't rely on a RB busting a big play every week. We had like 150 yds rushing last week and a TD, but we only scored 10 points and lost the game. I think Kenny plays much better today, I think Sully will try and get the downfield passing game going which in my opinion is Kenny's strength.
But we have Pickett so the defense and the running game wiil be the key factors in this game.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.
Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.
*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

+1. Someone gets it. We are carry a QB who is both a poor passer and below average runner. We need to win this game and we can as Cincy is staring some guy who is making his first start at quarterback in the NFL.
