The RBs need to figure out how to get and stay more involved with the passing game. That's what will get them above average pay for the position. Najee's targets dropped in half the second season of his career probably because of Warren getting involved. And it's not hard to see why that was the case either. Warren had 14 first downs on 33 targets, Harris had 16 on 53 targets.
smh.. every screams about wanting Najee to reduce his load and as soon as another RB gets touches its used against Najee.

This is the problem with the position. As soon as another RB shows they can walk and chew gum at the same times its evidence you don’t need to pay as much for the starter.

      1. To the poster who wrote this.

Harris is not going to get 1,300 yards rushing this year. I will bet your this does not happen. Straight up. No odds. Ante up? The way I see it, he has about 5% chance to do that. Yes, I am telling your there is a chance if for no other reason to goad you.

      2. Harris will not get 350 passing either I am sure of that.

      Thanks for the laugh.
I agree on the passing but since you said Najee isn’t getting 1300 yards rushing its going to happen.

Friendly bet, loser has to admit they lost the bet it in their sig for the offseason.

He didn't "call him out", and let's be real Elandon Roberts hasn't earned the right to call anyone out.

I never said NH needs to reduce his load. I said Warren needs more touches. If you want to call it a knock on Harris so be it. I call it a props to Warren.

Harris SHOULD want a lighter workload, just be productive when he gets the ball. Then be willing to sign a shorter 2nd deal.

RBs who want 5 years and a bunch of guaranteed money for the back half of their career are peeing into a fan.

WRONG. As soon as there is a running back who proves he can a higher YPR and YPC with enough attempts to judge, not 1 or 2 big plays in a very limited amount of runs or catches, Harris carries were reduced. He is a very young back to have this happen to him and not a star or even a top 15 NFL back has had this happen without missing a games so soon. Go ahead create a list of top running backs and show me who had their carries reduced and when. Ah, but you won't do that.

By now you should I'm not going to let you give out BJ's for free and by comparing Harris a 3rd year player to other projected running backs, you are doing just that.

Harris IMO, needs to be replaced as the starting RB. Pads are on today! I think our OL will be better and if they are I predict you will point this out if Harris YPR and YPC are better this year. Let us note that, shall we?

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

That wasn’t the type of bet I was thinking about. Do what you like on your own free time dude..

you do realize Najee had a whopping 30 less carries in year 2.

                      2021: 302
                      2022: 272

That is an average of 18 carries in 2021 and 16 carries in 2022.

Watch out now, we really reduced NHs carries a ton last year.

Part of the problem is the short shelf life of RBs. 5 year contract and then the tag. Thats whats killing RBs. I heard a suggestion that they should let college RBs leave after their freshman season as a counter to this might be a great idea.
I'm way late on this response, but this leads us back to the actual topic...

Naj was careful not to mention his own salary, emphasizing that he's happy where he is. But, in the interviews, didn't he basically say that if CMC can get $16m, surely Saquan is worth more than what the tag's worth? And similar thoughts on Dalvin Cook...

IMO, he's taking a smart approach, which is: throw in my $.02 to help get the high end guys the money they deserve. Generally, that'll increase the value of the position and by default, that'll raise my own worth when my time comes.

exactly, Najee and other RB’s aren’t saying they all deserve CMC numbers but they damn sure want the best to get a nice deal which should raise the numbers for everyone else.

Roberts has started many more games in the NFL. Why not? HE can call something out if a player isn't practicing hard, which Harris wasn't on that play. Meanwhile Harris is whining about running backs better than he is not getter paid. Owners and GM's notice that, I'll guarantee you that. The NFL has a player union you know.
