Huge? Not sure about that. I think players (talent) play the largest part. Everything else maybe 25%.

I think you're seriously underestimating how much goes into game planning. You need to know what your teams' strengths and weaknesses are, what the opponents are, plan situationally, etc.

The better coaches are on every detail.

Example: Mike Mitchell said they never saw the flea-flicker from the 2016 AFCC Game on tape. The Pats ran it a few weeks earlier but the Steelers didn't go back that far. Belichick said he watched every play the Steelers ran the entire year for his prep.

The players on defense are to blame for not forcing turnovers and scoring on them, amirite?

The studies showed that turnovers..........................can be unpredictable base on various factors.

Sometimes defense can force turnovers and sometimes they can't.

Turnovers are good for a team based on the overall win or loss %'s.
