doesn’t matter. Even when we beat Cincy it was a fluke.

Do you work for Steelers PR? You're literally selling optimism based on highlights of narrow wins over bad teams and explicitly telling us "not to watch full games". I guess if we watched full games we wouldn't have seen an offense that scored 6 vs. the Raiders or 9 vs. the Ravens in 58 minutes.

You've outdone yourself with this one.

Strawman argument - they play down to teams as heavy favorites, something that has been documented over the years. They weren't heavily favored in any game this year.

Truth be told the reason we didn’t make the playoffs was the 3 interception performance (2 in the red zone) by Tribisky, and the blocked FG against the Ravens. We lost 16-14.

            Facts matter.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Negates the first game of the year, which was the flukiest win a team could have. They missed the (expanded) playoffs. End of story.

Wasn't one of Boz's better seasons. Hoping it was a one year slip and he's back to self this year.

If we are that bad of a team, how are 9 other teams that we beat considered worse than us?

I think it will be interesting to see how many of the trends we have stick.

For such a long time we had the same GM, same QB, and same HC.

Now two of those guys are gone.

So we may get at least some information about relative importance.

Personally, I have always thought that Ben was the most important of the three (and that it probably wasn't that close).

I mean have you watched the NFL? Lot of bad/mediocre teams, I would argue there are some in the playoffs as well. I think winning 9 games is above what a lot of people thought was possible though but I also think some teams were worse than people thought they would be like Tampa Bay and Ravens without Lamar.

During that 7-2 streak the Steelers beat ONE team with a winning record who was without their starting QB and it still took a KP last minute drive to win. It took KP to win another game in the last minute, etc.

This season is honestly the worst kind of finish in some ways, it gets fans like felt pumped up but the reality is the team isn't really progressing. It's Steelers purgatory the next chapter.

Why would anyone do that... you might end up feeling ... dare I say:
                            HOPEFUL, POSITIVE even GOOD?

Why would someone do that to themselves when it is so much more enjoyable to wallow in hopeless misery.

                            THIS POV below?
Now THAT is what I aspire to feel.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                            TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Worse yet, they see Miami hang with the Bills with their backup QB, something they did a month earlier after beating them earlier in the year, and believe the Steelers could have done the same.

Sneaking in to the playoffs would have meant a severe beatdown in Buffalo that would have tempered expectations, instead the homer dreams of miraculous playoff wins fuel misguided optimism for 2023.
