Still some house cleaning to do on Pickett’s part but trust me, he isn’t going to get worse at this with more reps in the offseason…

and he would’ve had 2 passing TD’s if DJ had some moves and wasn’t tackled at the GL. That dude.. lol.
This is the hope I'm taking in to next season.

We were in an almost "must win" mode basically since the bye. And KP really stepped up at the biggest times. I hope we see more consistency. But it seems to me like it should be easier to play well when the game isn't on the line than when it is.

From 10,000 feet, what I wanted going into this season was glimpses of greatness from the rookie QB.

And I think that's something he delivered in the last few weeks.

So even though we got screwed by the Jets terrible offense, I think there's a lot to be excited about next season. I still have important question marks about KP too, but I'm hopeful.

According to some KP worshipers, Kenny taking first team reps in camp will make ALL the difference in the world, and we should see a top 5 QB because of it. I sure hope so, but I got to say, that sure seems a little pie in the sky to me. He ended up the season in the bottom 8 of the league.

Well, I’m sure some Tomlin haters also see it your way but normal folks see a rookie QB finishing 7-2 after the bye and like where this team is headed.
They went 1-2 in that stretch vs playoff teams, and both teams are in their division. I temper my enthusiasm until I see how they can compete against the better teams in the league. I do not believe KP is on the Ben trajectory, and I truly believe his ceiling is not far off from the now. He will be asked to run what we saw down the stretch, so if the run game and D buckle we will all find out what KP is made of, and if it's the early season version then look out. Ben was great enough to overcome when things went off script, and the signs were there in his first year.

I get the enthusiasm though, so let's all hope things somehow get better offensively, and the top paid D in the league can continue to contribute with the aging players they have.

Funny, was going to say that this stat is brought up mostly by the anti-Tomlin crowd and the national media. Rarely hear it from Tomlin fans and local media.

So funny AND mostly TRUE. Well it DID come up in the last PC (local media)
Tomlin said he doesn't care about that stuff

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

              TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Glad we won last couple games. love every single win regardless of draft pick. of course next April I will feel differently.

This team clearly needs change. Lets hope Tomlin or the next coach can make this happen while we have a QB on a rookie contract

The national media did have several stories on it, interviewing players etc. about what makes Shades such a great coach to play for, etc. to ad nauseum.
Familiarity breeds contempt... From the 30,000 ft. view of national media, it looks noteworthy...

But, a SIXTH straight year without a playoff win. Six. Consecutive. Just how long are we going to go, acting like "non-losing" seasons are good enough? No end in sight. Get used to it. Shades has not sniffed making the Super Bowl since he had a team stacked with Cowher players. Is 12 years long enough of a sample size? If not, how many is? 15? 20?

This is a serious question. I think only 2 teams have not won a playoff game in the same space. 2. Out of 32. But we are told Shades is an awesome head coach. Why?
Only 2 teams have won 6 Superbowls. 2. Out of 32... I still wonder why you call CoachT a nickname attributed to the POTUS, but leader of the free world being analogous to leader of the Steelers is pretty high praise... It may be a good idea to turn that down a notch...

By couple, you mean four?? Change usually happens every season... So I think you can concentrate on your undercounting...

If you measure quarterbacking by leading the team to a victory... he ended the season winning six of his last seven. I doubt that was in the bottom 8...

It's kind of crazy actually. Steelers purgatory. Maybe the team is actually cursed in it's own way now, not cursed like the Browns but cursed in a different way, never bad enough to make actual changes but never good enough to make it past the opening round of the playoffs if the team even makes it there.
How is wanting the best for CoachT not wanting the best for the Steelers... People here need to be more "yes/and..." and less "no/but..."

we can always hope he takes cowher's que and brings up a small percentage of ownership in his next contract talks.

he might say "ok there mikey" as he pats him on the head and tells him to run along
