Another "non-losing" season and winless playoff year.

So the TFWs get to brag about another "non-losing" season (in this case, "winning," even though the definition allows for .500 in seasons past).

But, a SIXTH straight year without a playoff win. Six. Consecutive. Just how long are we going to go, acting like "non-losing" seasons are good enough? No end in sight. Get used to it. Shades has not sniffed making the Super Bowl since he had a team stacked with Cowher players. Is 12 years long enough of a sample size? If not, how many is? 15? 20?

This is a serious question. I think only 2 teams have not won a playoff game in the same space. 2. Out of 32. But we are told Shades is an awesome head coach. Why?

Not winning stinks. Your battle isn't with MT he's going to coach as long as the guys paying him want to pay him. Your fight is with the Rooney's. Perhaps you can consider sending them a strongly worded e-mail.

        TFW = Tomlin Freaking Won

I know this stat pisses you, and a whole bunch of Tomlin haters, off which brings me joy.

I can’t take anyone seriously THIS YEAR for being upset we didn’t win a playoff game. Its just ranting to rant.

To their credit, the local media is less than impressed with this streak, it's the national media going ga-ga over it, with a couple national analysts calling Tomlin coach of the year.

I think the local media has "just become" a little less impressed with it. And some still are. The "Rooney @ss kissers" are still praising Shades as awesome for another "non losing" season. The national media did have several stories on it, interviewing players etc. about what makes Shades such a great coach to play for, etc. to ad nauseum.

its an impressive stat that local fans loathe because they lied to themselves and believe we have been to 30 SB’s before Tomlin arrived.

Most national media folk, and most fans, are impressed because they all said we had no shot at the playoffs this year at 2-6 and all predicted our first losing season.

They were wrong, and most people are sensible and able to admit they were wrong instead of pivoting to his recent playoff struggles instead of admitting the team exceeded preseason expectations.

this is killing the Tomlin haters.

notice how a couple of them have yet to post since we beat the Browns?

oh.. they had to delete their post or save it on their desktop for next year.

I believe NB said he wanted the streak to end so people would stop talking about it. We know damn well if it happens they will use it as a weapon against Tomlin.

People need to realize .500 or 9-8 is Tomlin’s FLOOR! First year with a rookie QB and we go 9-8. Man.. they are mad as hell right now.

It seems to me like it's mostly the haters that keep bringing up this stat (and then saying how silly it is).

I don't think it's all that important in terms of team success (although it does kind of show that we're pretty much always in the hunt). The way it's talked about is as an individual stat for Tomlin. And the reason I like football instead of baseball is that football is about team success. So I don't care that Tomlin has a pretty cool record that's going to end up in Trivial Pursuit or something.

I think I did say this and I do believe it.

But I think it won't matter for the haters. Because they will always find some new reason to hate.

It's weird how it seems like some fans are taking Tomlin over the team. I just want what is best for the Steelers, not what is best for Mike Tomlin. 6 years now and counting without a playoff win, 10 out of the last 12 years and no playoff win, that is a decade of football lol. It's kind of crazy actually. Steelers purgatory. Maybe the team is actually cursed in it's own way now, not cursed like the Browns but cursed in a different way, never bad enough to make actual changes but never good enough to make it past the opening round of the playoffs if the team even makes it there.

I saw this coming two years ago; you’ve got to take it in stride. We will be in ground hog day for a long time.

nah, there are some way more deserving head coaches than Tomlin for the coach of the year award.

Nick Siriani and Kyle Shanahan come immediately to mind.
