I think I mentioned a while back that he reminds me of Montana actually. Obviously not saying he'll be anywhere as good but his style sort of reminds me of him. Montana was actually pretty athletic and could move around, their throwing styles are fairly similar imo.Comment

At least, I hope that's what they are comparing, comparing careers, wins and losses etc. would be silly (to be nice).

This explains what I meant perfectly. I doubt Pickett will make the HOF because it is such a high bar, but then again he is just getting started. No, they're comparing his style of play in general, not Montana's success compared to Pickett's. Montana was good on the run, in the clutch, the moment never seemed too big and his arm strength was good enough, Pickett is showing all of that early in his career. They play similar styles, if someone was comparing him to Marino, I'd agree that's ludicrous but Montana is a good comparison from a style standpoint, imo.

I can only speak for myself, but the Montana comparisons from me were mostly style related, with the tongue-in-cheek somewhat trolly predictions that he'll have the same career.
The overarching point is that there is more than one type of franchise QB, they don't all have rocket arms.
Also a pet peeve that QB projections seem to be solely based on physical traits, and nobody seems to have a problem with outrageous comps like "Malik Willis is the next Josh Allen", when in reality I think it's more likely Kenny has a Brees-type career than that happening.
The position is still played mostly from the neck up, more than ever with the complexity of offenses (outside of ours, of course) and defenses.Last edited by WindyCitySteel; 01-02-2023, 09:52 AM.Comment

Two consecutive weeks are closed with long drives with only ONE pass hitting the ground. Yes, I call that accurate.
I think much of the overall reason for a modest percentage is Kenny is told to throw it away over a risky pass. I'm going to start a thread to elaborate.Last edited by Captain Lemming; 01-02-2023, 10:37 AM.sigpic
In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Guess me and Ron Cook are the lone holdouts to board the Pickett train.
He played a good game last night. And he made plays when he had to. Nice to see the growth.Comment

2 weeks with game winning drives and people are still wondering if Kenny has IT??? lol..I can only speak for myself, but the Montana comparisons from me were mostly style related, with the tongue-in-cheek somewhat trolly predictions that he'll have the same career.

Notice a few weeks ago people were still talking about how only Ben could pul out these types of wins.Steelers 27

The game winner KP tossed last night was a thing of beauty and a sight to behold.Comment

PFF recap pod saying good things about Kenny, said the limiting factor is Canada's offense, which doesn't scheme any "free yards", as they put it. It's all on the players beating their man.
Season grade up to 74.5, must have had a really good game grade.Comment

He has definitely been Kenny Klutch the last couple of weeks.

I'm here too
More optimistic than I was two weeks ago.
But a long way to go before being a legit franchise qbComment
