One more win and thats three wins in a row. I don't care how they are against. There is still hope. But our margin for error is razor thin.
With a favorable schedule can we make ( the 5-7 Steelers ) the playoffs ?

Last edited by Joel Buchsbaum; 12-07-2022, 11:12 AM.Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.
Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.
*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***Tags: None -
You're a few weeks late to the party, I started that thread at 2-6...
Anyway, playoffs will be tough with all the AFCE losses, we really need the Pats and Jets to go into a tailspin.Comment

I think we're headed for a trip to the Bills Zone. Where we miss the playoffs and get a middling pick.
I think that's much worse if you don't have your QB of the future...which is what the Bills struggled with from Kelly to Allen.
Hopefully Kenny is our future QB and we'll be more like the Packers after Favre than the Bills after Kelly (of the Steelers after Bradshaw).
And given that we're the Steelers and will likely give Kenny the full 4 to 5 years anyway, I'd much rather see him having success now than not. I think he's been getting better through the season (although progress isn't linear).Last edited by Northern_Blitz; 12-07-2022, 11:24 AM.Comment

For better or worse the Steelers are married to KP. He is showing enough growth that he is at bare minimum the QB for the next 3-5 seasons. I do not see a guy who can carry a team on his shoulders. But, if the Steelers can build the team around him, they can have success. SB success? Anything is possible.I think we're headed for a trip to the Bills Zone. Au contraire, KP8 put the team on his back and led Pittsburgh to the Heyward TD for sure... Last season at Pitt... he led the whole team to an ACC Championship... I would discourage agreeing with anyone because they said so.... Agree with them because they use FACTS to support their point... If you have "alternative facts" (nod to Kelly Ann Conway...) which disprove their point... you should present them... that's called "debating a point..." (nod to me...)Comment

Yes, I have alternative facts. The Steelers record for one and KPs miserable QBR of 45.9 and his 4 passing TDs and 8 interceptions. I mean what additional facts do you need? You point to one drive and I point to his season. Anything else?I would discourage agreeing with anyone because they said so.... Agree with them because they use FACTS to support their point... How about his QBR since the bye... How many interceptions has he thrown since then??Comment

While I'd like KP to the next Mahommes, Hebert, etc...I think he will more likely be the next Kirk Cousins which isn't bad, but he is the type of QB you need to have a strong supporting cast around. For better or worse the Steelers are married to KP. A team can win it all with a Kirk Cousins.
And ALL super bowl winning teams need to have a strong supporting cast around.
The GOAT has always needed it to amass all those rings. And even the year that he had the most unbelievable weapons of all time, he couldn't win it all. It takes a lot of things to go right to win a ring.
Right now, Aaron Rodgers is struggling to score points. One of the best pure passers to ever play. He needs a better supporting cast.
The formula is there for the Steelers to get ring 7 with KP8 in the next few years. Start stacking the team with more playmakers while KP8 is on the cheap.Comment
