If I was Tomlin, I would sit KP for a game or two

but I don't think you want to give up on a 1st rounder quite this soon
Definetely keep playing him. The season is pretty much over so might as well see more of what we have.

After four games rookie Manning had 3 TDs and 11 picks. Colts message boards were probably calling him a bust and demanding that they tank for Tim Couch in the next year's draft.

Pickett isn’t Ben and isn’t having a magical season but if you don’t see the upside that is on you.

We were real close to stealing a win in Miami.

Disappointed in his turnover ratio but we have our QB.
"We have our QB"...i can almost hear the tone in your voice....that's pretty funny.....from the little i've been on this board i've noticed 1 thing....whatever feltdizz says, if you are a gambling man take the opposite. He seems to be wrong on everything.

Made some bad decisions but I have yet to see him throw across his body.

And that is something even HOF Peyton Manning did in his rookie season.

Speaking of...KP has more yards than the same HOF QB.

Not saying he is anywhere near that talent, but please stop with the absolutes at game 3 of his career.
Thanks for taking the time and energy that I didn't want to spend on this. I'll also point out that Kenny's PFF grade is higher than every first round QB in the 2021 draft. Mac Jones was better last year but has regressed badly, Kenny is ahead of the rest for both last year AND this year.

People giving up on Kenny were the ones who never wanted to draft him. This is nothing but way too early narrative confirmation, you saw it in LP's OP, in which he described things he believed he saw that couldn't be farther from the truth.

            Oh I see the upside..
However, I was realistic in my analysis at the time.. and very much correct.

If you think hes going to be able to overcome all of the deficiencies that currently exist with this offense.. and perform significantly better than MT..
            Well that's on you..

Did they have message boards back then? I know they didn't have the advanced stats of today so the question is, was Manning throwing downfield more often leading to those INTs? KP's average for completed air yards/att = 3 is about as conservative as it gets. Five of Pickett's INTs were beyond 10 yds.

Not sure any QB can overcome all the deficiencies of an OC. I believe he can overcome a lot of them.

I don’t have the stats but my eyes tell me we ate having less 3 and outs than with Trubisky.

Also think we are moving the ball better. Pickett just has to make better decisions in the RZ.

He has 7 INT’s but 3 of them aren’t due to bad decisions IMO. Hail mary, Claypool trip and Claypool vollwy on a catchable ball.

I think we are a few plays from 4-4 and I think Pickett will start stacking wins real soon.

yeah… Ben has probably skewed expectations of what a good rookie QB looks like.

I’m a huge Puckett fan and disappointed he didn’t have that early game that hushed the naysayers up but overall there is still a lot more good than bad in these 3 starts.

and sure, I bet a few fans prolly called Manning a bust after 3 games but most fans are level headed. Troy P was also a bust his first year with Steeler fans.

Until Kenny leads us to a convincing win fans who didn’t want him or doubted him will puff their chest out. That’s fine, I think Pickett is closer to being a baller than a bust.

Ben also had the incredible luxury of being on a veteran team with a stoudt run game.

3 of Picketts INT’s weren’t really his fault but I get it, the stats are the stats.

Mannings first 3 games his AY/A was 5, 2.2 and 2.3 yards.. 4th game it jumped to 6 yards.

number of INT’s in first 4 games
                          3, 3, 2, 3.

What’s crazy is Manning only had 5 games with less than 2 INT’s. He threw a TON of them his first year.

Definitely not suggesting Pickett is Manning but I think we need to give a little more than 3 games to determine what to expect from Pickett. I’m not seeing anything that suggest he is a bust or is backup material. Definitely needs to punch in a few more TD’s this season but I think the FO is more concerned with other positions than QB moving forward.

Pickett is here (barring injury) at least the next 5 years. I hope at least double that.

Tomlin is here as long as he wants. The only change I see next season is possibly jettisoning Canada.

You will have to like it or lump it.

Ben's INT % his rookie season was the 2nd highest of his career, he just threw infrequently enough that the counting stats didn't look too bad.
