    Pickett is a Bust

Weak arm, can only throw on time to first read, looks the whole time at who he's throwing to, slow through progressions, & very inaccurate, & very poor decision maker. Had DJ open long for TD on first offensive series & airmailed it into different time zone. End of game has DJ open in back corner of endzone throws a comeback to front corner....or was he trying for back corner & his arms so weak it didn't get there?

2nd INT threw too late & too weak of a throw & on wrong side of reciever, you throw on the side AWAY from defender...

There is a reason teams that needed QBS didn't draft him picks 1-19.

Rooney took him soley because he screwed up not taking Marino out of Pitt.

For all you clamoring weeks 1-4 for Kenny, sorry Mitch is the better QB......BY FAR

BUT good news at least we are playin Kenny, this year & probably next so by 2024 NFL draft we'll realize we need a new QB.

        Wrong pile.
Steelers only draft HOFer QBs top 20.
        sigpic

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

        TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

I see what you did there....you couldn't say round 1 because Malone was pick #28

Artie's not the NFL's sharpest football mind but he's a decent poker player just like Gramps Art in 1933. Who are the 2024 QB prospects? I fold on Hendon Hooker

too early to label Kenny a bust, IMO

but neither was he the savior who would step into Canada's system and immediately fix our broken offense

gonna take some time to right this ship

QB is just part of the picture

If I was Tomlin, I would sit KP for a game or two

but I don't think you want to give up on a 1st rounder quite this soon

Pretty sure you are watching a different QB...

I saw him go through his progressions most of the night.

I saw him on several occasions keep the safety out of position with his vision.

Made some bad decisions but I have yet to see him throw across his body.

And that is something even HOF Peyton Manning did in his rookie season.

Speaking of...KP has more yards than the same HOF QB.

Not saying he is anywhere near that talent, but please stop with the absolutes at game 3 of his career.

Believe it or not theres a well known poster on here who was quoted as saying "We are back" when Pickett replaced MT in the 2nd half..and then predicted we would score 30 in that game..
Then gave me a hard time for trying to temper those expectations (using sound logic)...

KP8's no bust just because he hasn't won every game he's been in. This disaster has been at least 8 to 10 years in the making and it won't be cured by Tomlin's extremely well developed verbal skills or being a "player's coach." He was slightly above average the day he got the job and no more. Dan Rooney knew his football and was taken in. No problem with that. No problem with making mistakes. Mistakes are the basis of Learning Theory. Just don't expect wild enthusiasm when the Steeler FO repeats their same mistake for years.

It's too early to pile on Pickett but the comparison to Manning's rookie season is misplaced. Pickett's got yards because it's a passing league now (and the Steelers run game sucks). But Manning's TD% puts Pickett to shame. That said, let's see if Pickett can manage a 4th qtr game winning drive in the next half season. Manning had one in his rookie year.

and we are back, lol. Its been 3 games vs 3 really good teams.

Pickett isn’t Ben and isn’t having a magical season but if you don’t see the upside that is on you.

We were real close to stealing a win in Miami.

Disappointed in his turnover ratio but we have our QB.
