yeah.. I need to see Pickens and DJ going over the middle more often.

Some things earlier in the game that made me very happy about this guys progression:

I saw him hold a safety with his eyes and throw to the other side
I saw him read through his progressions and not have the "Deer in the headlights, moment is too big for him." That said, the picks sort of diminish this but that is why they play 17 games. I am going to be patient and look for progress.
Noticed that the offense, once again, seemed to click when they ran more uptempo...yeah the OC is crap...we all know that by now.
Finally, he handles pressure pretty well, I think about Mitch and how he seemed to see ghosts...KP doesn't seem to have that problem.

Just my opinion obviously, but I think there are some pretty good initial impressions, if you don't try and compare him to some HOF QB who had so much more talent in his rookie debut.

KP is suffering with an OC who sucks and should have never got the OC job, that much is obvious. The unit is not coordinated, not crisp and not creative - regardless of how he was sold coming in.

I've been asking the question for well over a year, 'when is the last time we've had a receiver open by more than 2 steps?' Seriously, unless it's a 1 yard pass, nobody is ever 'open'. A few times last night Waddle caught the ball over the middle and there wasn't a Steeler within 10 yards of him. This offense reminds me of kids playing pickup games, and the QB tells everyone to just run around and get open.

And for the love of God, can we please remove those stupid jet sweeps from the offense? That play works in junior high, not the pros

This goes back to the simplified "beat your man" offense, every D in the league knows what we're running based on personnel and formation. JuJu said a couple weeks ago he learned more in a week in KC under Reid than all his years under Tomlin.

Tomlin is a defensive coach who wants to win with defense, so they mail in the offense and tell them just don't turn it over.

Blame the OC all you want, this will continue as long as Tomlin is in charge.
