Get off the OC... Start harpin' on the DC for not coachin'-up the Defense... When Minkah had the ball, and it gets taken away, that's lack of "want-to..." and that's something that can be coached.... Why did plays that didn't work for EmTee work for KP8?? Both had the same OC...

Canada is the obvious scapegoat, followed up by whoever is the DC, who knows at this point. As far as changes to be made now? A little moving of the deck chairs on the Titanic is all.
The blame is being mis-assigned... As long as Pittsburgh isn't shut out, they should be victorious... Giving-up 38 points is a failure by the defense...

Yes, I put 2 or 3 of them on ignore. I think they may all be the same person. After a while they will tire and go elsewhere.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

This issue reminds me of the restaurant that buys day old produce to save money but goes out of business because nobody wants to eat there. The only high profile coaching hire recently has been Flores, and he was hired at a down point in his career, so probably at bargain price tag.

I was recently thinking about this situation: The Steelers like their projects. Raw players like Claypool and Green, rehab guys like Jack etc. You would think that could be a good route of getting value talent if you can bring them up to potential with coaching. Good coaching is much cheaper than good players so get a Claypool and teach him to be all that he can be. But drafting a guy like Green, then giving him a coach who gets no results and leaves before the season ends is not fair to the process. If you are going to after these guys then give them top tier coaching to see if a Kendrick Green can be turned into a good player at a new position with good coaching.
I think this is where I get into a bind with Canada.

Part of me doesn't want us to fire him because promoting Sullivan is the only realistic option during the season. But Sullivan has also sucked as an OC and I think we'd give him more than the remainder of the season to show that he's still not good. This part of me is hoping against hope that if we leave Canada in for the remainder of the year, we'll have a legit search and bring in the best available OC instead of just promoting the next guy down on the Totem pole.

But, the other part of me is thinking that if we can Canada now we can let Sullivan show us how bad he is for the rest of the season. Then we'll get an outside OC next year. But I don't think this is how the Steelers would operate.

I doubt it, and oddly enough, "Tazz" is often the ONLY respondent to "Bawb's" posts and vice versa. And they use the same "ole timey" vocabulary and references: both an alias and a troll.

its why I have them on ignore… lol

I will admit at least realtazz talks football sometimes when I see quoted post.

But I still think its Bawb when he comes down off of whatever he is on when he is rambling.

"Promote within" no matter how incompetent the guy over him was. That's the Steeler way, and, oh by the way, they are known to pay their coaches the least in the NFL. Great game plan. Rooneys trip over dimes to leave dollars laying around.

It's beyond obvious, and particularly notable when Tazz is accused of being an alias; he acts like we are insane to even suggest it.

What is even more troubling is that whenever the OC is replaced there is no reason to believe that we will see a good hire. More than likely it will be someone that nobody has heard of and we will have to hope that he will be the next big thing.

THIS... if they name him as interim OC and move forward from there, it should solve that problem - which is what typically happens with mid-season firings.

I wish I had more faith in our ability to hire coordinators.

But it just so happens that we always think that the absolute best guy available always happens to be the guy we have on our own staff.

If we did fire Canada and go to Sullivan, I would feel at least a little better if we hang the "interim" tag on him.

They are going to give Canada at least a month with Pickett before making a kneejerk decision. Otherwise Canada can claim he was never given a QB that could run the offense he wants. No excuses now though.

btw, not sure if this was recent but I see Robinson is now listed as #2 behind Jack at ILB on latest depth chart.

So no changes announced? Guess we’ll keep hammering the round peg into the square hole. Definition of insanity.
