    Exactly my point.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Not going to fill all of them, wish they'd focus on one and make it a team strength. Draft high + premium free agent. They seem to think they can paper over all the holes every offseason by checking off boxes with middle tier free agents and mid to late round picks. You can get depth that way, but this teams lacks stars, and for a team that depends less on scheme and planning than most others, that's a bad thing.

There are several teams with multiple 1st round picks next year (HOU-3, and SEA, MIA, DET, PHI with 2 each) if I looked correctly. Best case scenario is we end up slotted to pick in front of all of them (potentially 1st overall), and we trade that pick to acquire at least one additional 1st rounder this year and potentially more in this years draft or subsequent drafts. That's assuming we believe KP8 is the QB of the future and can draft at other areas of need (OL, CB, etc).

Correct, if by the end of the season they feel KP8 is the QB of the future you try and trade back, assuming a QB hungry team will be willing trading partners. That is scenario 1.

However, (scenario 2) if the Steelers feel that KP8 is not the answer, you stay pat and pick another QB, maybe evening trading KP8 for a lower round pick.

I think how he performs and how the Steelers evaluate his performance will dictate either Scenario 1 or 2. Too early to tell on either.

I wouldn't overlook QB if it's a top 5 pick. It is rare the Steelers get to pick that high and this class has some real talent.

Not sure it does, Alabama and OSU QBs are surrounded with NFL talent. Who else is there?

Ewers and Manning will be targets in 2/3 years if Kenny doesn't work out.

Will Levis is a stud. Drake Maye if he comes out.

Watched Levis vs Ole Miss 2 weeks ago. I was not impressed. Now, his highlights of other games they showed while hyping him up were impressive. He has an arm but in that game he was lack luster and didn’t show me anything but they raved about him. He didn’t play last weekend. Wanted to see if he would bounce back.

Its hilarious he was at Penn State. I swear the Big 10 is allergic to good QB talent unless its Ohio State.

But I have repeatedly said I don’t think 2023 is going to pan out like people expect as far as talent is concerned at QB.

That's right. Much depends on where we pick, if Pickett look like he will be a good one. At this we need to be open about selecting a QB #1.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

The most important thing the Steelers have to do the remainder of this season is decide what Pickett's ceiling is. Pickett being 'NFL ready' then the org should be able to assess that pretty quickly. This should determine whether they go after another QB in the next draft.
