At this point even if Tribusky starts it's not because they are trying to protect Pickett. It will be because the plan was probably to start Mitch anyways and he really hasnt done anything to lose the job.

This is how I think they are looking at it.

We'll see though. Maybe the game this week will matter for the QB competition.

It isn't a matter of if Pickett starts, but when he starts. It Tomlin's decision. As soon as Pickett shows the ability to throw the ball down the field, the outs, skinny posts, posts, fly routes and uses the sidelines, I'm am fine with him starting. I think Tomlin call on when will either be too early or too late. But when it's right, amusing Turbisy doesn't flop is another story. I would start Turbisky for now. This could change the moment Pickett shows me something with his arm. Can do it the last pre-season game? Call the right plays and do it! If he can great! Show us this Pickett. I could care less about a pre-season game.
