Personally I think it could boil down to certain situations based on the opposition. Spillane is good at making decisions when he diagnoses an offensive play quickly.

Spillane wasn't good at recognition in the passing game. He doesn't have the speed necessary to recover when he was caught in a bad coverage situation. That being said, if Spillane has worked to develop his read and recognition skills then that will make him a better player at defending the pass. \

Players that make it in the NFL develop at different paces. Maybe this is the year Spillane breaks out as a player?

We will see once the real lights go on.

So it's true if someone puts it on the internet?? Or does it have to be confirmed by official sources to be "reported??" I mean if I say someone (lets just use Mr.wizard as an example...) was seen down by the river in a white van, distributing candy to little boys; that doesn't mean it's true, even if I "reported" it... (It ISN'T true, right??)

It is reported by Sources at Alabama where he ran the 40 yard dash and that what's reported. Just because it wasn't reported or didn't happen in the NFL doesn't mean it didn't happen or isn't sourced. Try reading and comprehending, if you have a problem with it, take it up with Alabama, and the number of sites that reported it. Instead of trying to be a condescending prick, you could just use google.

Although it's now been reported that Mr.Wizard Was a candy-offering, white van owning, river-dweller; it also has been reported that Mr.wizard was not a candy-offering, white van owning, river-dweller... Now who do you believe?? (Hint: octogenarians are dubious, at best... )

No NFL teams believes in campus times. They are often bogus. That's why teams spend money going to the combine and pro days which Harris did not run in. Everybody gets those times and they are accurate.

You weren't talking to me in this reply but I thought you should know.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

That isnt the point and i dont know how you arent getting this. The fact that the NFL doesnt use the times has nothing to do with the fact that is the time we have for Harris reported. It's not that the times are considered "bogus", they are still considered relatively accurate but they are hand timed so there maybe differences usually in milliseconds. Meaning his time maybe accurate at 4.45 or it maybe inaccurate at like a 4.48 or it could be the other way at 4.42. Its not liked he ran a 4.8 and the guy at Alabama timing him said, " ya lets round that to 4.45". Even if the hand timed 40 was off by a full tenth of a second and it was 4.55, that is still fast for a back and fast enough to break runs. The 40 time is just a red herring because breaking runs and running outside the tackles is not about sprinting in a straight line on a track.

I think the bottom line is that 40-times in general cannot be used as an accurate measure of an RB's effectiveness... Now if they ran a "Superstars-esque" obstacle course, that would be pretty bitchin'....

There was a post about NFL combine times awhile ago. They use a combination of hand and laser. Hand start, laser finish. Pretty sure the human hand can have an error ±0.05 seconds from one timing to the next. The debate is getting into the weeds I think.
