    I just want consistency.

Having a 3rd party make a decision and them get mad at the results so you throw it out? What was the point?

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this on the news this morning.

The point was that the judge found factual evidence of the 4 complaints against Watson. The NFL can now use that in any court if Watson were to appeal. It's ideal because it was independent of the NFL's investigation, and it may have been their intention all along. Goodell is savvy.

I'm glad the NFL is appealing this decision. It should have been season long as it was originally rumored by the NFL.

but the NFL already had this information and interviewed a bunch of women.

To me it feels like the opposite. Now the NFL gets to push for a full year and if they can’t get it at least they tried to push for more.

I don’t understand why they didn’t just give him an indefinite suspension. Are you suggesting the only way they could do it was to involve a 3rd party who had factual evidence and determined 6 games was enough?

IMO this looks bad because it was a female judge. I guess it is supposed to make Goodell look like he cares more about women than women do.

It a predetermined outcome. Roger will set the length of the suspension.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Then why go through the dog and pony show to begin with?

Because Watson (or the NFLPA) will probably appeal in court if it's a longer suspension than the six weeks. Now that the judge found for the complainants it makes the NFL's task in court a whole lot less work.

And if the PA didn't want Roger to be the final word on everything, they should have fought to change it.

if you knew what I know about this case, you would know that Goodell wants a much longer suspension than only six games:

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell designates former NJ attorney general Peter C. Harvey to hear appeal of Deshaun Watson's six-game suspension

                      Published: Aug 04, 2022

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Thursday designated former New Jersey attorney general Peter C. Harvey to hear the league's appeal of Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson's six-game suspension for violating the league's personal-conduct policy.
