Watson suing on the table if it's a long suspension.

Having the NFL's dirty laundry aired in court where they don't get to control the information that gets out seems like it would be bad for the shield.

Particularly given all the crap the owners have been into.

Watson's argument in the hearing was supposedly about how sexual misconduct and other personal conduct stuff wasn't punished when it was owners. So, if it went to court presumably they try to put all that stuff into evidence.

And my guess is that Watson's side would be thinking they wouldn't even have to win in court, or even a good chance of winning. Because the NFL won't go through a process like that.

Brady threatened to go to court over deflate gate, which is why I think the punishment was pushed back a year. I guess the danger for Watson of doing something like that is that deferring the punishment to next season cost him significantly more money because his game checks get much bigger.

Which owner is accused of sexual harassment to 26+ women? Or 2 women for that matter? Just asking, and no going to a massage parlor is not a crime, but harassing the women, multiple women is.. There is an extreme example with Mr. Watson not related to any owner. That's why he going down. If an owner did what he doing he's be forced to sell. Jeffery Epstein must have been a fan of Watson's. He's got a problem and is stupid to do what he did. There are other places outside the USA where this type if behavior get a pass, and other " professions " in the USA where it's part of business. Best guess is Watson didn't have any harassment charges vs them.

Watson is giving men a bad name.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Joel, with respect, you're right but you left out the fact that Houston Oiler owner Bob McNair deliberately facilitated and ignored everything that DeSean did during his time as the team QB. Similarly, Nixon A. G. John Mitchell facilitated and ignored Richard Nixon's Watergate crimes and spent 19 months in prison.

Before someone posts "this belongs in General Discussion," I agree. But we're in the USA and the law applies equally or supposedly does. If so, Both the McNair family and Cleveland Brown owner Jimmy Haslam are as guilty as was Nixon A. G. John Mitchell. Patriot owner Bob Kraft has been mentioned here several times by others.

I don't excuse DeSean actions but are we speaking of a standard of behavior by Millionaires as opposed to a standard of behavior by Billionaires? Apparently so.

Take PFT with a grain of salt, but they're saying 2-8 games is expected. Browns host the Steelers on Amazon Prime week 3, Thursday night. Jeff Bezos isn't paying for NFL game rights to show the country Jacoby Brissett.

On Monday, the big news in the Deshaun Watson case came from Charles Robinson's report that the NFL Players Association and Watson are prepared to file a federal lawsuit attacking a full-season suspension, if that's the end result of the NFL's internal process.

Desean never played for the Oilers... I'm pretty sure the team had moved to Tennessee by then... I pretty sure Bob McNair never owned them... I do think Steve "Air" McNair played QB for them... I repeat, they are the Houston Texans, now... Just my little bit to assist the octogenarians of the world....

I'm still a partly paralyzed, spaz octogenarian, Tazz, but in my mind I stand corrected.

I’m told relevant parties have already been notified that Sue Robinson is currently expected to inform them of the decision in the Deshaun Watson proceeding by some time Monday, per league sources.

                          By Mary Kay Cabot, cleveland.com
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The long wait for the ruling on Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson’s likely suspension is finally over.

NFL disciplinary officer Sue L. Robinson will inform the NFL, NFL Players Association and Watson’s camp of her decision Monday, two league sources told cleveland.com. The ruling is expected to come by 9 a.m.

It doesn’t meant it’s the final word, however.

The NFL Players Association issued a statement Sunday night stating that it won’t appeal the ruling to Commisioner Roger Goodell and called on the NFL to do the same. The NFL hasn’t responded, but this was a collectively bargained process to afford either side the ability to appeal, and it will likely abide by that.

6 games, same amount Roethlisberger got for 1 accusation. Must be white privilege at work.
